Scar has one of his agents here at my house, taking over. He was at the door yesterday, meowing for food. I dutifully obeyed. This morning he met me at the garage. Thankfully I had a can of food in the garage and gave him his wishes. It won’t be long before he’ll be picking and choosing (“No, not the chicken, I want the tuna pate”).
It’s hard to accept that the days are getting shorter here. We’ve lost half an hour of daylight since July 1st. Meanwhile, the people in the Southern Hemisphere are celebrating that their days are getting longer.
I’m hoping to take a couple of days for a trip to the Smokies or somewhere nearby. Our next tournament is in Kingsport, Tennessee, and I want to go there (even though I’m not playing this year) for support. Some of the southern tour players (from North Carolina) may be there, too, and it would be good to see them. The week after is the Legends tournament. As I’ve won that tournament twice, I feel obligated to be there, even if I’m not participating. Plus, I love the owners of that course. They’re getting old now, and they may sell the place any day, so I’ll be there and celebrate their great hospitality and friendship over the past 22 years. My first-ever victory (in the novice division) came there, and that’s where I won my state title. Additionally, the only national tournament I’ve ever played was at that course, ten years ago. It was then that I saw just how great the competition is in this game. I only placed in one tournament, the Senior Open. (The cool thing was I had to prove I was over 50 to be able to play in it!
)
I hope y’all have a great evening!

I hate the shorter days too...with a passion! I'm glad you will be able to go to the tournaments if only as a spectator.

I’m hoping to go to Michigan after the finals to see one of my best friends. Watch it, and I might come down through Ohio and stop by and see you.

@LindaOHio — I have a motto, and I live by it: if you want to see me, come by anytime. If you want to see the house, you give me a three week notice (minimum!).
My sis-in-law always freaks about that, but I tell her I’m there to see them and the kids (one cat, three dogs), not inspect the house. I gave up barracks inspections when I got out of the Navy.

@FourWalls That would be great. Be forewarned....I hate clutter; but we have a cluttered house!

Oh, I checked with my neighbor, he/she is training the whole freaking neighborhood. She feeds him with the other strays, I feed him. He’s got it good.

His scars look like he’s picked a fight with 800 cats and 47 dogs.

@FourWalls Did you have any flooding problems. Seen on the news where part of Kentucky got hit hard?

@wolfgirl569 — thank you for asking. No, the severe problem is in eastern Kentucky. I’m in Louisville, north-central Kentucky.

Hey, I was so sorry to hear about the horrible flooding in Kentucky. Are you okay? Have you heard from Lori/Joy?

That cat looks a bit scruffy. Did something take a chunk out of his back?

I’ve mentioned him before. I said I didn’t know if it was a he or she, but based on the 400 or so fights it looks like it’s been in I’d guess “he.” Wish I could get him, love him, squeeze him, call him George (like the cartoon said
), and put some Neosporin on his wounds! He’d only let me do it once, but that’d be enough.

Not so much now because the hairs are getting grayer, but when I was 50, you bet!!!

@FourWalls I've been mistaken for Vince's daughter once or twice which hasn't gone down too well. I've probably bragged about it before.

That's always good when you have to prove your age. It's so much better than being looked at and they just know.

I realized I have proof on my arm. They stopped giving smallpox vaccines in 1980, so all I have to do is show my vaccine scar.
