Getting ready for school

Tomorrow is a Special Education Inservice. It will be half a day.
We will get to meet the new teachers for this year. We will get our student assignments, maybe.
I will only work half days next year. They will have to train some more people with my student. It is the only way I know of to force it. Physically the job is getting very demanding. He also needs to learn to interact with more people.
I think I am looking forward to it. We shall see.

Ah, back to school. I have the day here marked on my calendar (August 10)…NOT because I have kids or because I work there, but because I’ll know when the rolling traffic jams return to the road.

You are starting about a week before we do. I do try to avoid the school zones when I go to my sister's house.

This year is really flying by! It seems like you just got done with the school year!
I can't believe this is the only way to get the school to give you help with your student.

I worked Driver's Ed for a couple of weeks and that made it a shorter break. The school is willing, but if someone is there who seems to handle it all, then they tend to recruit people to other duties. If I were forty years younger this would not be a problem.

I have lived places where they had year round school, six weeks on, two weeks off, and I think it would be a good idea.
