Or don't look as I did not take a picture.
In many ways the cats view me as "mom". They are happy when I come home. They are eager to send me to bed on time. They spend time in the office with me.
When I got home yesterday, Lady came straight inside with me. I looked at the floor and discovered she had brought in the tail of a lizard.
Now let it be known that this is a lizard survival mechanism. They basically shed their tail if a predator catches it. later they grow a new one. It does not bleed, but it continues to wiggle. It distracts whatever is catching it. In this case it was Lady. I grabbed the tail and threw it out. Hopefully some bird caught it. I am not sure lizard is a good menu item for domestic cats.
I have never seen a lizard around here, but I am thankful for them, they eat bugs.
We have had spotty rain off and on the last two days and I suppose the creature was enjoying the dampness.
I have seen free range chickens catch and eat lizards, and small mice when I was young and would visit my grandparents farmstead.
I know you wanted to hear that this morning.

It's okay for cats to eat lizards. (I tease pony sometimes that Kitty is making sure he's eating enough when she brings him baby birds or lizards and lets the live creatures loose in his apartment.
It also gives him exercise when he's trying to catch them.
Good Kitty!)
Your kitty may have just been bringing you something for breakfast, too.
At least you only got the tail. It can't run around and make you chase it.
It sprinkled off and on during the day yesterday but started pouring around 2 am. We're down to 73F and a steady downpour now. It's supposed to keep raining all day today... I hope the forecast is right.2 people like this

Wish you could share the rain with us. I want some cooler weather. Lady kitty is a very predatory cat and catches and eats lots of things.

@GardenGerty I'd share if I could... but the rain stopped around 10 am. We kept the cloud cover for the rest of the day but it's bright an sunny now. The forecast says we'll hit 100F today but right now it's 71F outside.
I don't doubt that a bit.

Oh, well that is good to know. I know that if they catch a toad they will foam at the mouth so I was concerned about the lizard.

@GardenGerty I have seen the cat of my neighbors eating a lizard.
As he had no good food at home.

Last night at 11:33, someone "up there" turned on the celestial shower full force, then turned it off. Just checking, I guess. But turned it back on 5 minutes later and I guess it continued to rain through the night because everything was good and wet this morning.
Supposed to rain for the rest of the week, if I can trust Yahoo weather.

As long as she does not catch a wasp and get stung I am okay with it.

I learned about this years ago at church camp. It is disturbing at first.
