A night full of nightmares. Do you ever have bad dreams?

I had an odd night of sleep last night. My hump day was yesterday, with preschool in the morning and a bunch of students at Guitar Center in the afternoon/evening. My dreams should have been of unicorns, rainbows, music, and incredible romantic interludes. Instead, they were of intimidation by my drug addict brother, people shooting at each other, rejection by a favorite ex-, and general chaos. I wonder what gives. Do you remember your dreams? Can they affect you the next day? I'm actually feeling pretty good about today's prospects. Heck, even Kitty is happy, as I bought her some new dry and wet food yesterday.

I think we all dream, whether we remember them or not.

I have the same experience with dreams. After a busy day doing constructive work, mingling with sane people. I'd expect to have a beautiful dream, with colorful rainbows. Instead, I get chased around by some loony bin escapee, who's trying to scare my pants off! Why these nightmares? Apparently, on the inside I have issues that still aren't being dealt with. What are they? I really don't know.

I received an odd email yesterday. It made me feel "out of control." Perhaps that's what led to my nightmarish night. I assume we all have issues that need to be dealt with. Figuring out what they are is an interesting process.

@kobesbuddy I've really enjoyed my psychology courses. But I have to be careful about blabbing too much about what I've learned. Eyes can gloss over if I go into too much detail. Sigh.

@TheHorse The human mind is a complex mechanism. Just like a computer, it's fed good and bad information, which somehow gets stored by our subconscious thoughts. Do I understand how this works? Heavens, no! But, it's a study that I've always enjoyed learning about. In college I took a psychology course, it was a wonderful experience.

I have weird dreams. Rarely will I have a bad one. I don’t think they affect me very much in day-to-day life.

I often have bad dreams, also weird dreams and sometimes premonitory dreams... those are the worst of all.

@TheHorse I had so many, some silly, but what I had dreamed really happened a few days (sometimes weeks) later.

Wow! Those were most unfortunate dreams you had, pony... I hope that type don't become a regular occurrence for you. I very rarely remember my dreams. Once in a great while I'll dream something stupid and then tell Pretty about it when I get up... We both laugh and go on with our day.

Yes. A while ago during my napping. I had a bad dream. My wife transferred my work station to a different place. Then, I'm about to open it to prepare my work shift and finally found out that all cables were not attached to the unit. So, I'm angrily attaching them all too fast because I'll be late already.

Once in a while we can figure out why we dreamed what we did, maybe related to something that happened or was said recently, but sometimes there's no telling what our dreams mean. I didn't have time to dream last night, I didn't get to sleep until after 4:30. No idea why.

I didn't sleep well last night but at least I didn't have nightmares. I might try to get a nap in later today.

@TheHorse It's still morning for me but maybe after lunch. It's a cold, miserable day - just right for snuggling down.

I used to have terrible nightmares but knock on wood I haven’t had any lately. Sorry you’re having nightmares. They make you dread to go to bed.

That's unpredictable if you have a great day you will dream the same that night, yeah I do have very bad dreams lately but it's good that I don't remember them later just that they weren't pleasent.

I have had disturbing dreams the past few weeks. They are caused by the pain I'm in from the broken ankle. I also am busy in my dreams. I have decorated Christmas trees, washed my Mom's clothes and her dish towels (bleaching them to make them white again, fought the fire that burned down my home, and even trained the neighbor behind me dogthat usually barks half the night. I end up usually very depressed and not wanting to go on. It takes hours to get out of the funk.

My funks don;t usually last very long if I have a bad dream. Especially if I have some understanding of "why."

I often can't remember my dreams. I very rarely have bad ones though. Sometimes I have weird things going on in my dreams and I wake up wondering where all of that came from!

I've had some crazy dreams lately but not necessarily bad ones. Just ones that make me wonder what the heck caused me to dream what I was dreaming. When I do have a nightmare it seems to follow me through the day. Hope your day goes well and you can forget your nightmares.

@TheHorse I would say you take good care of kitty. How does Kitty like the new dry and wet food? My cat is not very fussy and just so she gets her wet food and dry food she is happy. I have remembered some dreams and others have not. Some are very very clear and others not clear. I guess it would depend on the dream I had on whether it would affect me the next day or not. I guess it goes to show we never know what we will dream when we go to sleep at night.

I usually remember my dreams -- they are extremely vivid and can involve all five senses. Sometimes they affect me if they are about a guy I knew very well that passed away when he was 47.

I have a deep sleep and I hardly remember my dreams. And when I do, it is all chaotic and weird.. I am not able to maje sense of any of them. I remember them in bits and pieces.
