I Am Back!

I am back on myLot after taking some respite time.
But I actually did go somewhere too. My husband and I went on a cruise to Alaska. He doesn't like me to tell anyone we are leaving when we go on trips, so I didn't mention the cruise ahead of time.
We were able to do a 1-week cruise, and then we took 5 extra days and did a land tour. I will be telling you all about it in my next posts over the next few days.
But I needed to take a break from the internet before, during, and after the cruise because I felt like I was allowing the internet, in general, to take over too much of my time.
We have been back for 1 week and I LOVED Alaska so much that I found the perfect little town and I want to move there. Although maybe just summer in Alaska. I think it might be too cold for me in the winter.
Have you ever been to Alaska? Can you guess my favorite town in Alaska that I want to move to?

@LadyDuck People go in summer from what I gathered unless they hardcore. Some go in winter just to see wolves and wild life is why they go then. Skiing also.

@crossbones27 I do not need to go to Alaska to see wolves and for skiing, we have enough in my country.

Welcome back. I hope to do some interaction with you. Alaska seems to be not a popular destination for us here.

@Kouponkaren we're in the tropics and we don't experience extreme cold weather. We have no winter.

Well, it is certainly much cooler in Alaska than it would be in the Philippines. That's my kind of weather. I don't like hot weather.

Haha I can see that. Internet actually keeps me out of trouble for most part. For normal people I can see internet becoming a problem. Also your husband a smart man in not broadcasting your trips until done with them. World seems to be getting more dangerous by the day. I hope one day people get their brains back and hope you enjoyed your trip. People say Alaska is amazing, no place on earth like it.

It really is amazing in Alaska. They say it's the last frontier and I can see why now. There are so many wild areas up there with no one inhabiting them. If you love nature, that's the place to go. In the summer anyway!

I can't get any photos off of my cell phone. It keeps telling me that I have too much data on my phone and to get rid of some. I have to take a couple of apps off my phone in order to download my photos from Alaska. So I do hope to post some photos soon.

Its better not to say. A friend of hubbies was posting pics while on vacation one year on facebook. He came home to a bunch of stuff stolen.

Oh my, that is always the fear. But I have never heard of it actually happening. Yikes. I guess it's a good thing to keep it quiet then.

I have been to Alaska 2x, but not on a cruiseship. We saw some things within a days drive of Anchorage though including Talkeetna, (Mt. McKinle)y, and the parks and natural areas around Anchorage including one that encompassed an iceberg.. We also went on a one day tourist cruise through the Homer/Seward area. It reminded me of Norweigan fjords.

I LOVE Talkeetna and plan to post about it. And Mt. McKinley (Denali) is so beautiful.

I have not been there, but want to. My ex-husband's twin's ex-wife and their children live there, and my son would love to meet his first cousins face-to-face instead of only on Facebook.

@Kouponkaren, I'll leave all the planning to my son since he is almost 30 and these are his relatives.

Welcome back! And it sounds like you had a great time. I fully understand about not wanting to be too open on social media...but people figure things out. As for Alaska it is a place I have never been that I actually do want to visit one day. Ideally I will do it via an RV, in retirement, driving through Canada to get there.

@Kouponkaren Canada has always seemed to be an interesting place to see some of too. I am sure it is probably very much like America, but I could be wrong.

I hope you really do get to go someday. Please make sure to realize that dream. You won't be disappointed. And if you are driving, going through Canada is the only way to get there.

the cruise was great and we did see the beautiful coastline. But this was the first time we saw the interior and it was just as beautiful as the coast. Please go if you can sometime.

No, but good guess. I don't like big cities. That city has 300,000 people living in it!

No I haven't been to Alaska. But my former professor's son moved to Alaska.

.I have never been to Alaska but I'm all ears from hearing everything about that trip you had.I'm guessing Anchorage cause that's the only one I have heard of
