Strawberries!

It is the end of the season so I have been going nuts over fruit. Got some natural juice popsicles and am eating strawberries right now. We had pineapple the other day. I want to get some kiwi and try a cantaloupe. I hope I can find a ripe one. Haven't had much luck the last couple of years. We've had a lot of watermelons recently so probably won't try more of that.
Did you know that cantaloupe has Vitamin K in it? That is a natural coagulant for the blood. My mom used to make me eat it when I was pregnant.

You can find a good cantaloupe by smelling the spot where the vine was attached. It will smell like a ripe cantaloupe, or if not ripe, will smell "green". Sorry if you already knew this.

I have learned how to pick one over the years but, even then, they are cully and tasteless.

I've noticed at least one strawberry making a comeback in my patch, and the raspberries are on their second go, too.

The price of watermelons here shot up so I bought one really good one and cut most of it up and put it into the freezer. I'll eat it over the winter and hope they aren't so expensive next year.
I've gotten more fresh peaches from a friend but can only eat one a day or I start hearing my blood start singing from the fructose in my system. I haven't seen ripe cantaloupes here, so missed them this year. I'm still buying grapes, though. I love black grapes.

Good idea. Yes, the black(or purple) are more nutritious.

@DaddyEvil .......Good call. I wondered.
My grandmother had a grape arbor in the yard and the Concord grapes were fantastic.

@celticeagle Thanks. I've frozen watermelon for the past two winters and I eat it like ice cream. If you try to thaw it first, it's nasty because the watermelon thaws slimy. Leave it frozen and it's delicious.
I like the taste of black grapes better than any other grapes.

Can't have cantaloupe because I am allergic to it.

I don't know if we have that cantaloupe in our place. I search and it's melon. We make a shake of it.
