Autumn Joy Sedum Is Pink

Excited to see the pink in the garden now. My Autumn Joy Sedum has several stages it goes through. Starts out green. Now, at the start of fall, it turns to pink. The later in the season it gets the pink will turn to burgundy. And finally the entire plant will be burgundy. Such a low maintenance plant for anyone looking for an easy plant. It gets full sun in the garden beside the roses. I will cut it back at the end of fall. Sometimes I will cover it for freeze warnings. But I have forgotten in the past and it has survived. Photo is mine. Just snapped in the garden on this gorgeous day. Had to put some chicken wire around it due to the rabbits enjoying it as well. The rain is gone for now and the sun is here with only 70's F for the high. It is short lived, but I have enjoyed today while it lasted. Do you have anything in your garden these days?

That is very pretty. I still have bell pepper plants producing nicely and tomato plants still blooming with ripe fruit coming off them every two to three days. My pampas grass looks good with the tasseled plumes bobbing in the breeze. The mint plants look like they are starting to die down for the winter already.

Such a pretty color, a nice touch to the garden at the end of summer season. I only have the four 'o clock flowers still in full bloom right now and a few roses.

Most of what is not a wild plant or grass came from the soil I got from mom. I only put small amounts of her soil around several places and in one spot I got mimosa and in another I got vinca and virginia creeper. Those do ok only because I keep them mostly shaded.

I'm not really familiar with your sedum plant and at first I thought it was a cauliflower () It must be very pretty as it changes color. I would love one of them by my front porch

I love the sedum plant. This variety especially. The colors are so pretty to watch. This one started on my deck for years and then I moved it to the garden.

I thought I knew most flowers but sedum I don’t believe I’ve seen. It sounds like a very hardy flower.

Multi colored flowers - that is a great bounty from the nature! I wonder if it would survive well in more tropical conditions? The temperatures you are having sound so Spring like and something that I enjoy the most.

They are not blooms, the entire plant changes colors, except for the leaves. Should do well as it thrives in full sun here. We have more warm weather the end of the week unfortunately.

What a lovely plant. I will have to check with our local greenhouse to see if they have some. Just some marigolds right now. We'll be in the 50s at night which I am really looking forward to. Some rain tonight, that will be it for the week for us. Have a blessed evening.

I have nothing growing. I keep buying bird seed but nothing ever grows. That’s a lovely plant. It has almost a cauliflower floret look to it.

Glad you have these too. I am happy mine survived after the little rabbits nibbled on them and slept there as well last year. I used to have mine on the deck for years. Finally transplanted it to the garden a few years ago. I enjoy these too.
