When Things that Don't Make Sense Actually Make Sense

Does it ever really leave anyone wondering why so many thoughts, ideas and proclamations, made in this weird and crazy world we live in, simply have to be questioned? Minds are simply not working from too many stories to count. Logic often is being tossed out the window—although still being defined as logic, and real logic is being discounted as craziness. But it is not so surprising necessarily, since these days we do seem to be having an undeniably difficult time distinguishing between truth and fantasy, and what's real and what is not. When the FDA has to put out warnings to remind people not to cook their chicken in Nyquil or other OTC drugs, it puts a real perspective on so many other things people are saying with seriousness in the world today. But it does help to make more sense why we are in a lot of this mess at all. I can at least make sense of why nothing makes sense anymore.

You know how you post... uhm... interesting things.... on your TikTok channel? Well, other young adults are posting things like Nyquil Chicken... to get views and earn money. The more outlandish the "challenge" the more views from other ignorant people and the more money they make... Kill TikTok off and less of it will be happening.

@porwest I agree with your thinking, but not entirely... People, especially younger people who want money without working for it, see other people making money on TikTok or YT or other streaming gaming platforms and want that "free" money, too. I will agree there are an awful lot of ignorant people in the world, though.

I don't necessarily agree entirely. People are still people and people still have minds of their own, and should also have sensibilities. It's kind of like the arguments about people wanting to emulate cartoons and putting themselves into danger, or video games encouraging mass shootings. I think some people are just stupid, and no matter how hard you try or what you do, you can't fix it. lol

I saw an article about that earlier today. Apparently it is one of those TicTok challenges like eating Tide Pods and trying to swallow a cup of cinnamon.

There has to be something said about common sense prevailing at some point in so much of this, and the fact that so much common sense is lacking makes me question what has happened to us in society that people have lost the ability to think? I mean, for years silica gel packs have said "do not eat" on them, so maybe this sort of thing has been happening longer than we thought. But there are some things you just know you don't do, and yet. Here we are.

They actually do that? Never seen such a warning on chicken. I've seen DO NOT EAT labels on things that are obvious should not be consumed. Like those little packets they put inside new handbags. Or sometimes even inside packaged food.

It wasn't a warning label on chicken packages. It was a general alert/warning issued because people are doing it.

@NJChicaa oh. Yeah, I saw somewhere that it was a new TikTok challenge.

I'm always amazed at the things that some people will believe.

Some things you would think would be common sense. But of course there's a lot lacking in that general consensus. Not sure what's next.

@LindaOHio lol. I have never had that assessment of you. I mean, you may be lacking on some 'ideas,' but I generally find you have common sense.

Logic is not the American way anymore. You should know that by now.

I come a statement somewhere along the way. It says "if something wrong done by many, it becomes a lifestyle." I remember my former PMT tactical officer when we did something wrong, he said; "You are right in a wrong way."

The problem with a good many people is the lack of thinking. It's a problem.
