I Have No Idea

I still have no idea what we are getting ourselves into here with this camper. But Saturday we go to get the truck "outfitted," and take delivery. It is a done deal, so I am not sure there is any backing out at this point. We have the insurance set. Did that earlier today, so we have the camper insured. We have a spot at CubeSmart, where we will store it, reserved. The loan is approved, so that's a done deal. All I know is that Saturday is going to be a really busy and expensive day with $10,000 being handed over for the down payment and about $1,500 worth of additional "work" being done to the truck and trailer. I am excited, but what I am more excited about is being able to actually use the damn thing, which is something not happening soon I don't think because the season for camping is pretty much over. Wish me luck. lol I have either lost my mind or I am making the best decision of my life.

Best of luck to you this weekend. It’s funny that you say camping season is over for you, because here in Florida camping season is just getting started.

@porwest We look at it more like it’s no longer baking hot and humid and we can go outside without melting.

I guess that makes sense considering winters are chillier there but not terribly cold like it gets here.

@moffittjc I remember being in Florida in around February and loving it, even if it was not necessarily beach weather. We used to spend a lot of time around St. Pete's Beach and Ft. Lauderdale.

Are you kidding, this is a great time of year to go camping with the fall colors! The only down side is the RV parks are probably booked solid now, and starting to fill up for next year.

That is what we are thinking, is that a lot of the sites will be full. We wanted to get some "practice camping" in but we will have to see if that will be possible.

I hope next summer you will get a lot of use out of that camper. That will be great.

That's our plan. We will be doing lots of checking and planning to see what booking looks like and where we can go that is close enough we can do on the weekends. Should be a lot of fun despite the obvious learning curve.

I think it will all work out ultimately. We are happy we got it so far. But of course we have not yet really gotten into any real camping. So, after about a year or so we will know if it turned out to be a good idea or not.

I hope you enjoy it. As for me not even when I was young was I the camper person. I need a bed and a good toilet. The better, the happier I am.

And do you or have you found a storage place nearby? Congratulations now on the deal. Looking forward to your talk about it.

The exciting part is the camping experience after the expenses. You can earn the money again. Just enjoy the camping.

You’ll have plenty of time for camping. You should get out and enjoy it this fall. You can see the lakes and scenery and all the colored leaves that will be here soon. Go and send us pictures.

I guess you will find out, won't you? I think you should take it out for a test run and maybe stay overnight at a trailer park somewhere while the weather is still nice.
