I love spring. I will take a shower soon and get dressed. I already took my pills that include the pain killer so I will try to go to the drugstore at noon.
I have decided to change my plans for today´s lunch. I will use that delicious chard in making a couple of eggs en cocotte for lunch. I need some protein and finally did not thaw yesterday the pork I have.
Claudia also brought me radishes but I had to throw them away. Claudia went to Spain and then to Valdicia and the radishes were overgrown and so old that they could not be sliced to be eaten. The size was more like beets.
I hope she plants more again. Radishes take little to grow and I love them.
I hope I can save by being frugal at eating. I have always thought that my savings depend a lot on how I eat now that I´m retired. There are lots of ixecpensive dishes to cook.
I will now go to my notifications.
I will place a picture from the eggs en cocotte from the web but I always make them in a bed of cooked chard or spinach.

Even the mildest radishes burn my mouth so I won't eat them.
I was thinking this next spring I'd try planting turnips in the pots on the front porch. I don't know how well they'll grow there or if the squirrels will let me have any of them.
Have a good day.

Leticia brought a fresh oregano plant when she came for a visit. Luna had destroyed my old oregano plant a couple of years ago. Now I will try to plant tomatoes in big containers away from Luna. Homegrown tomatos are the best.

@marguicha I always plant two tomatoes because that gives me enough to enjoy warm from the sun all summer long. Pretty doesn't like raw tomatoes and would rather get them from a can for cooking.

@DaddyEvil I can eat them by biting them like a fruit when homegrown. But I cannot eat them raw if I buy them at the supermarket.

Frugal eating is smart and really easy to do. Too bad about the radishs. Spinach sounds good.

I'm also relying on inexpensive meals to stretch my money. The prices here are ridiculous on so many things.

Can you maybe grow a few vegetables in pots? Spinach is usually easy to grow.

Cooking on a budget can save a lot of money. My husband isn’t concerned about that at all and it makes me worry. He just bought lunch meat and one package alone was $14. Yikes since that’s not all he bought.
