He was in the office practically all day long, even following me around for most of the day. It is Wednesday and he typically knows he gets to come home on Wednesday nights with us to visit with Grayson and get some special food.
Around 430pm I made sure he was in the office. But somewhere along the line he got out, and normally even if that happens he is easily found.
But he was nowhere to be found. After work I spent a half an hour looking for him, looking in the usual places around the building.
No where in sight.
My wife went over there to see if she could find him on her way home from work. He was nowhere to be found.
I got dinner going and took a last ditch effort to find him—I live about 5 minutes from the office.
But he was nowhere to be found.
I am sure he will be fine, but I have to admit I miss his company just a bit and wished I would have found him on the last attempt. I guess he is out exploring and having a good time and I guess I will see him sometime tomorrow.
I am sure he is fine.
I don't know why I worry. He's a cat and cats can take care of themselves. But I just do. Despite anything else, I actually do have a heart. When I see him tomorrow I will give him an extra big hug, and if I can make sure to keep him around, he can have a day with us on Thursday night.

You and your wife are good people worrying about him. Even though I know my cat is somewhere in our apartment I still worry when I do not see her. We worry about them because we care. I hope he will be back at the office when you are there again. I hope he is ok and you and your wife did your best to try and find him. Was Grayson wondering where he was when you were at home? Cats can grow on us no matter if they belong to us or not. I would say you and your wife and Grayson are the closest family he has.

Maybe one of your coworkers took him home for the night? I hope you find him safe and sound.

I am the only one who ever takes him home. Besides, the boss usually skips out early and my other co-worker is out of town traveling for work. The two warehouse guys we have now would not have done that. He's just out exploring. But it is the first time he has been completely unfound.

@porwest That really doesn't sound good. How old is he? And is he still intact?

@RubyHawk He went hunting for something, though not sure what. Either way he certainly himself quite the adventure it would seem. He did not seem too thrilled about having been locked out though. When he got in he went immediately to his food.
Well, after saying hi to us of course.

Bad boy Cal. My old man cat SoCo who passed 5 years ago was an indoor/outdoor cat and he drove me nuts in his later years with his wandering. I bought a GPS tracker and fit it on a XS dog collar so I could always know where the little punk was. My ex thought I was nuts. Now it is common for people to put those trackers on their dog's collars. Cats. . . not so much.
