Good afternoon from this side of the planet . It's 12:10 PM as I write this post. It's bright sunny and pleasant as off now . It rained the whole night. And I am happy that sun came out bright. After two days of using my sick leave, I went to school today. Things went smooth at work. Did have a review with all the Montessori teachers and took one to one session with one child. Now I am back home. Husband just left for office. The renovation work is nearing its end. Today, it's mostly cleaning and polishing of wooden furniture. This might take another two days. We might have to postpone the terrace painting if rain continues . I hope it doesn't rain tonight and they can do it tomorrow morning. I don't want things to linger. Once the workers leave the house, I will get time to set up my house. Diwali is quite near. So, the next week would be some artwork around Diwali. I guess this diya ( earthen lamps) painting is one art work for Diwali that can not be left behind. So, I would be doing that the next week. Children get to paint and decorate their diyas and take it home for Diwali. I sent a mail to all parents to send their children with 5 diyas of their own choice on Monday. They can paint one on each day and then take it home on Friday. We are closed from 24_26 of this month for Diwali. And adding Saturday Sunday into that, we get a five days holidays . The picture is of the diya painted by one of the students last year. A pretty decent job for a ten years old. Now I move on to notifications and then to reading and responding to discussions. I have an hour before lunchtime to spend here And Yay! I crossed the two dollars mark for this month Happy mylotting

The diya looks beautiful. I loved painting pottery stuff and did a lot when I taught in schools.

The diya is lovely. One of the kids did a good job with it! I'm glad you were feeling better and could go to school... It's nice the work on your house is coming to an end for right now. When it's all cleaned up. would you mind posting a photo of the new work? Thank you.

Yes, it's a very neat job. The diya looks so bright and festive. I am just waiting for the workers to leave my house so that I can set up my house.. Seems like the terrace painting work will have to stop till we get few dry days. I hate this.. Don't want things to get lingered on. I wanted all to be done before Diwali. It's dark clouds back in the sky and the sun is gone

@arunima25 I know it's a pain in the tush to wait on the work but you don't want it to look bad, either. If you pained before the rain the pain wouldn't dry right. I hope you and your family are ready for the Diwali celebration.

@DaddyEvil Yes, we have to wait for the floors on terrace to be fully dried before painting. We are getting ready slowly. Once the house is settled, we will feel sorted out.

Renovation work is finally over on Saturday evening. That's a big relief. I was stuck for the last two months. Now I have a big task to settle down the house. I am doing it little by little. Making a good progress there. Diwali is a big celebration around the country. Have a good week

@jobelbojel Yes, doing a little each day. I did a lot today and now I am exhausted. It's 7:45 PM here and I am relaxing with TV watching and mylotting. I have a working day tomorrow and I have to take rest for a busy day tomorrow.

This diya in the photo is beautiful, I cannot believe that the student who painted it was only 10 years old. I am glad you are feeling better, you will be fine to enjoy Diwali.

@arunima25 This is something that many adults would be unable to do. I am glad it was featured in the school newsletter. You will have all your energy back for Diwali.

Yes, Judy it's a very neat job. That's earthen lamps made of clay on the Potter wheel.. This is how it looks before painting and decorating. They do these fine designs on the wet clay before it dries up..so, artistically done.

@arunima25 That looks very intricate to have been made on a wheel. It would take real skill.

@JudyEv The plain diyas are made on wheels and then they do fine intricate designs using toothpick or fine metal string. They do it super quick before the clay dries. It's definitely a skill

Thanks Rebecca. I feel that it's an excellent work for a ten years old.. Today is the last day of workers coming to house. So, it's mostly cleaning of floor and furniture. And some final touch up. Now I need to set up things , a bit each day.
