My recent guitar restoration project.

I don't generally restore anyone's guitars except my own. I recently took a chance and disappeared some white glue showing through on my Martin D-18, a guitar that's worth over $2,000 dollars. I used a stain pen that I use on some of the corners on the speaker I restore. But I made an exception to my "my own guitars only policy" when I restored the guitar shown. It belongs to one of my preschool students. I've known her since she was two, and she has aged gracefully into a really sweet five-year-old. I replaced a missing string, tuned it up, removed some random stains, and added some glue beneath a bridge that is starting to come up. Her mom wanted me to give the guitar's owner some private guitar lessons, but it turns out they will be moving to North Carolina in a couple of months. Maybe I'll give my young friend a lesson anyway. You can guess how much I charged for this restoration.

The guitar looks good. How do you think you'll get rich if you repair guitars for your students for free, pony? (That was a very nice gesture.)

@DaddyEvil I did some research on that years ago. Babies are pretty biologically resilient, once they detox. But attachment issues could emerge if they were less responsive to care than non-addicted babies.

I can certainly understand your reluctance to restore others guitars. Rather sad that your friend will be moning soon.

Yeah. She (the mom) started crying when she told us (the teachers). I think her husband got a better job there.

Yep. But I bet that thing is worth at least $10 (stickers included)! The thing has been loved and played and that's what matters.

Did you get a book for your efforts? Or did you do it for free? Either way, it was a nice gesture.

Heh. That's my remaining Where the Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak. It is one of my favorite works of children;s literature, and no child escapes me without having heard it.

I hope it's a great job that makes you decide by yourself the charges

Of course I charged nothing. It's a kid guitar.

I'm guessing you did it out of the goodness of your heart. You will miss your pupil when she moves away but at least her guitar is now in a bit better condition.

Exactly. My bestie "graduated" but her little sister is with us now. Maybe I'll give my 5-year-old friend a lesson before they move.

It's free for it's yours. Isn't it? I accidentally broke the arm of my blue guitar. I don't how to repair. If I will send it to guitar maker, he will probably charge me more. I bought it for Php 2,000 (40 USD).

Heh. I charge more than that for regular "independent" students. For for a littly whose mom is not "rich"...no charge!
