Stressful morning. My poor Nanny fainted and hit her head.

Friday morning my Dad and Nanny went to visit my Poppy and he wasn't well. Later that night my Nanny got a call from the Aged Care place my Poppy is being looked after to tell her that he has Covid. My poor Poppy has already had a fall to which the nurses / carers believe it was due to him having a high temperature. My Dad seems to be ok. No symptoms of anything. My brother is ok too. I have been feeling a bit off since yesterday. Just a headache and an upset stomach but hoping it's something else and not Covid. I've had Covid once and it was hell. But on Monday my Nanny rang my Dad and I to tell us she wasn't feeling well. Yesterday she did a test and it came up positive. My Dad and I got some things for her and dropped it off in her garage so we didn't get close to her. My Dad and I were worried because when my Nanny isn't well, it hits her pretty hard. Early this morning one of our fears happened. The phone rang, I answered it and it was my Nanny trying to talk to me telling me she fainted. I told her that Dad will be there soon as possible. My Dad called me from her house to let me know what was going on. He told me he found her on the floor in the loungeroom where she crawled to but there was a little pool of blood on the kitchen tiles where she fainted and blood in her hair. She did hit her head on the tiles. My Dad rang an ambulance and they took her away. As far as we know, she is alright. She had no issue answering random questions but she's just not well. My Dad or myself will call the hospital a bit later to see how she is doing. My Dad rang earlier but the nurse looking after her wasn't available. We wish we could see her but she's in isolation. She is in the best place. But my goodness what a stressful day so far!

I am so sorry, your poor Nanny was sick and home alone, the hospital will take care of her. I hope your father protected himself before taking care of your Nanny, Covid is so contagious.

@VivaLaDani13 -Better that they check her head, those falls are dangerous and she is no more young.

@LadyDuck Thank you kindly Anna. Yes I feel awful she was alone. I'm glad she's in the hospital for tonight so she can be well looked after. We are still waiting to hear back to know how her scans went. They wanted to check to make sure her head was alright after hitting it. My dad wore a mask when he went into her house.

That is very stressful indeed. Your poor Nanny! I'm glad she is in good hands now, but you will need to keep an eye on your dad since he was possibly exposed to the virus when he went to tend to her. I hope and pray that no one else in your family gets Covid from the exposure, as your Poppy and Nanny need you healthy!

@VivaLaDani13 That is wonderful news to hear that everyone is doing great! Did you do anything to celebrate Halloween last night?

@VivaLaDani13 I went to adult Halloween parties over the weekend, but didn’t actually do anything on Halloween itself. Like you, I was really tired, but I stayed up to hand out candy to all the trick-or-treaters who came by the house. We had so many kids dressed up in costumes this year!

@moffittjc My dad still has been fine thank goodness. My Nanny is doing so much better. A nurse called my dad this afternoon and said she could be picked up today to go home so Nanny is back at home now. She is looking and doing well considering what happened. My Poppy is Covid free now too which is great. Thank you for being sweet as always Jeff.

Oh no that’s terrible news. I hope she will be okay. Is she vaccinated? The elderly get hit much harder but I think the vaccines have helped people from getting so deathly sick. It hit my entire house about a month ago or less. Wasn’t too bad though this strain we had whatever it was.

I am sorry that she is unwell, but they will take good care of her in the hospital. Once she is well and strong she will be back again, and you will be able to spend time with her.

@Juliaacv Thank you kindly for that. She was definitely in the right place. A nurse called my dad today and said she could go home so she is back at home now. But she needs to isolate for about another 5 days. But she looked good considering what she just been through.

@DaddyEvil I will, I promise. Also because my brother just let my dad and I know that he just might have come into contact with someone at work who might have Covid. I say we should all just get tested soon.

Honestly, it could have gone worse than that but you and your dad's prompt action did not let the issue exacerbate. I am surprised to see that the ugly Covid is lurking there in Australia still. Wish your test comes out as negative.

I hope she's doing a lot better, & back home with some 1 there to keep a eye on her, in case something happens, she doesn't need to be alone in the condition she's in at her age.
