Can You Believe It's November Already

Happy November Everyone! I can't believe another month has arrived Yesterday was Halloween and we quite a lot of trick or treaters. Way more than last year and thankfully I had gotten extra candy to give out. Now that Halloween is over it seems as if everything turns to the holidays. Thanksgiving is only a few short weeks away and we're already trying to decide if my oldest daughter will be hosting or if we'll do it here at my house this year. Christmas is always here at my house and I'm already thinking about putting together a menu. We are a large family so our sit down dinners are a thing of the past and we usually do a buffet. Meanwhile I have to get all these holiday thoughts out of my head and just focus on today. I'm going to make a beef stew in the slow cooker for tonights dinner and have the usual things that need doing around the house. This afternoon I'm going to relax and watch Dancing With The Stars which I taped because I didn't have a chance to watch it last night. Right now I'm going to enjoy my coffee. chat here for awhile and then get started on my day.

I hope you enjoyed your Halloween. The next-door neighbor's grandkids stopped by and we got rid of all the candy Pretty and I don't like out of the bags we bought last week. Beef stew sounds fine.. I'm not sure what I'll decide to eat today. Enjoy your day.

@Marilynda1225 @much2say We bought one of the bags called Child's Play with tootsie rolls, suckers... etc. We won't eat the suckers. And we bought a bag of the mixed Reece's candies. We won't eat the Kit Kats, either. I kept the tootsie rolls and Pretty took all the peanut butter cups and Reece's Pieces.

It was a nice Halloween here and much busier than the past few years. It was fun seeing the little kids all dressed up. Pawning off the candy you don't like sounds like something I would do

I'm not the least surprised, it seems the years just fly by anymore. Soon it will be January and spring will be on everyones mind.

I will pray that you won't get any unusual snow fall but I would imagine some snow is always a part of your winter, right?

You're so right about that and time just seems to be going by faster than it ever did. I just hope we don't have a long winter filled with all sorts of freezing temperatures and snow. I know you don't have to deal with snow in your area but here it can get quite bad.

I noticed a lot more trick or treaters out this year as well. I have two houses to go to for thanksgiving. My parents and my inlaws. My husband always grumbles about going to my parents since my moms such a bad cook so I usually suggest getting together there for dessert I have made.

@Marilynda1225 my mom is the worst cook you can imagine. People always think I’m joking until my husband steps in and says it’s true

When I was married I'd always choose the house that had the best food My mom wasn't a good cook either and my mother in law was all into the whole feast thing. Your going to your in laws for dinner and then your parents for dessert sounds like a good compromise.

@Marilynda1225 I tried to get some Halloween stuff at Target yesterday and it was all squeezed onto 3 small shelves . . . they were putting up Christmas . New Years - gosh - I really can't even think about that right now !

Yesterday was Halloween and today all the Christmas commercials have already started on tv. You're right about us ringing in the New Year before we know it.

Your slow cooker beef stew sounds amazing. I haven't decided what we will have tonight. We didn't have many children last night, we make up bags to give to family and friends, so they do not come. Our granddaughters came over.

@Marilynda1225 I have burgers going in the air fryer right now. I'll open a can of beans to go along with them, just a quick and simple weekday supper. The costumes were really warm, I suggested to our daughter-in-law that if they still fit next year she could make some tubes out of black and alter things so that they could go from bee costumes to spiders. She liked that idea.

We had quite busy night with the trick or treaters ringing the bell. I saw your picture of your cute little baby bees. It was nice you posted that picture so we could all see how adorable they looked. I've had a busy few days so cooking wasn't something I wanted to spend a lot of time doing today so crock pot stew sounded like the perfect solution. PLus we'll have leftovers for another night

@Marilynda1225 - I was stressing when we received family for Christmas, but I realize now that those were happy moments that we miss now.

The holidays are my favorite time of year and although I'm already starting to stress with all that has to be done I love having the family together.

It has arrived, even though it feels more like Mid September here...lol. Really not sure what my holiday plans are going to be yet...kind of in flux. It must have been fun seeing all the trick or treaters.

I think Christmas nuggets sounds interesting. In my house we still have the sit down menu. And we have fixed menu which only gets cooked on Christmas and no other day of the year it’s that good that we all wait for the day to just eat

We also have some traditional foods that we serve on Christmas but we've also incorporated other foods that are easier to eat when not having a sit-down dinner. Christmas is always my favorite time of year when the family is all together

Yeah I can't believe it's November already. Today would have been my aunt's birthday. I gave the cats treats to celebrate. It rained last night. We do have kids on our street, but I didn't think they would come by to trick or treat.

Time really flies. But when I take my morning coffee in the early quiet dawn, it stands still. At least for a little while.

I also enjoy the little bit of quiet time when I have my morning coffee too. The rest of the day just seems to go by faster and faster these days.
