I ate my first avocado. What a treat! Learning.

I have been doing several things this evening. Besides my eating a delicious fresh bread with a mashed avocado (with salt and olive oil), I learned how to ask for an Uber so that my aunt could come here for lunch.
But it seems that that will not be possible yet. At first she grew very anxious so that I had to tell her that when she wanted to come, I could even go with the Uber to pick her up. It will be more expensive but I think that there are things that have to be done if you have the money. My aunt is 99 years old and I just want to have her at my home once, maybe to show her in my computer Felipe´s wedding or have them sing and play the guitar in Sevilla.
Next week the therapist will resume my knee therapy. Meanwhile I will have to walk more.
Now I am on my bed (not in my bed as it is too warm) and the bed has fresh sheets and bedding. Probably later I will eat a piece of turkey and the half potato I did not eat for lunch.
See you later friends. I will check everything for the night..

I like avocados and now, here in Europe, they are telling us that we are "killing the planet" because the avocados need so much water to grow and in many places of your country there is a shortage of water because the export of avocados. I am sure it's not true, they are annoying everyone with all those food stories.

@LadyDuck Those are the ones I buy. I either eat half in the morning and half at lunch or the whole avocado with my breakfast. I love them. But a big one would be too much for me.

This is the first time I hear about water and avocados. I buy smaller ones that are not exported and they are much cheaper.

@marguicha Journalists invent all sort of silly stories. I also buy the smaller ones, they are exported here, there are 6 or 7 in one kilogram.

I did not convince her but she told me that when she felt better we would do it by going to get her.

@marguicha That is a good idea. She'll feel more comfortable having you with her.

I like avocadoes a lot. Glad your first experience with one was positive.
It is so hard for older folks to find comfort in the ways of the world nowadays.
How is the knee? Sounds like it is getting stronger.

@celticeagle That is one of the several ways I eat them. I mash them though when they are a little overripe.

This is not my first experience with an avocado. We have been best friends since I was a toddler. The knee therapist is on vacation. I will have to check her next Monday.

I will call her again to ask her if she has wifi. Maybe I can go with my laptop and lunch made by myself to her house.

I am amazed that was your first avocado. They must grow not far from you. They are OK,(love a good guac) and are nutritious, what I don't like about them though is that have a short lifespan from ripe to rotten.

That was the first avocado I had today (I bought a kilo of them). But I have eaten avocados since I was a child. And when avocados are almost ripe I place them in the fridge.

I only use Uber and the like to go places. I sold my car some years ago as the chemo left me with some neurological problems and I did not like to drive.

I hope your aunt will be able to visit. Does she live on her own?

Your aunt is too tedious for her to travel for she's old. By the way, how often do you get her and bring her to your home?

I really like avocados. They are good in salads, sandwiches, on toast, guacamole, or all by themselves.
