Catshews

No, not cat shoes, catshews, like the nuts. Like Bitty kitty who is a nut.
I had an open can of cashews sitting on a footstool. Munching a little.
Old Bitty cat came and very delicately pawed one cashew piece from the half full can and ate it. All in all I think she ate three pieces.
She could not resist trying some of mom's treats. I would imagine it was the salt that attracted her. I do not give her human food usually.
Now I am going to Google and see if cashews are bad for cats.

Small amounts will not kill them or make them sick but they are not the best things for them.

Guess, we all like what's not so good for us.

Not toxic to cats, but should not feed hem often or very many of them. I had not intended to share with her.

Way back when, my erstwhile hubby would share his Planters dry roasted peanuts with our grandkat Alfie while watching hockey on TV. His mom Mona and I didn't much care for them, the peanuts, that is. Or the game.

I would enjoy the peanuts, but not the hockey.

@GardenGerty They'd both get so excited watching the game. Alfie would even try to help them move the puck on the screen.

Our new kittens are too interested in people food. It's a bit of an adjustment for us because our previous cat was a tamed feral that had absolutely no interest whatsoever in what we were eating. Thankfully cashews aren't toxic to them. Some of the things Duke and Duchess get into worry us.

I worry about chocolate, because they will eat it and it is bad for them.

@koopharper I adopted a cat once who had been living around a bowling alley. My house was across the street from a Dairy Queen. . . a busy street. She would go there to beg and got hit by a car one evening. She loved to lick the popsicle sticks from fudgesicles.

@GardenGerty Fortunately we rarely have any of that in the house.

She ate only one or two. Now they are out of her reach.

@GardenGerty - Cats seem to love everything they should not eat. The cats of my mother in law reached a chocolate bar and ate a big piece, they rushed the cat to the vet.

They are not toxic, but she should not have a steady diet of them.

She was fine. I read it will not really hurt her but she should not have a lot of them.

Cats are very curious about the food that we eat. Dogs are even worse!

I would watch the salted ones for sure. But I am sure she is not eating much. My cats won'e eat anything but dry food. Except Brendel, lately is enjoying her chicken pureed baby food. Thank goodness it helps with her kidney disease. She gets a little more water in her diet.

I know the salt is not good for her and I bet it is what she likes about it. I am glad the chicken baby food helps Brendel.

Websites keep telling me that they do not need that much fat. I think she smelled the salt.

They are about the size of the treat she gets, so I felt she thought I was eating her treats.
