I think I'm living in the Twilight Zone

I've told y'all about trying to go on a cruise for three times. First time Covid was the reason, 2nd time was a hurricane, third time was my ruptured tendon in my foot.
We booked our fourth cruise and were supposed to leave for Florida on Thursday.
But guess what. There's a hurricane headed for Florida in a couple of days.
First of all, I pray that no one gets hurt or loses their homes or businesses.
But we're leaving a day early and praying the wind and rain isn't so dangerous to drive through.
To add to the Twilight Zone feeling, my foot doctor today told me that after three months, my toe hasn't healed enough (no surprise there!) and I'll probably need two surgical procedures. I have an appointment a week before Christmas with an Orthopedic surgeon.
So we may or may not get on that cruise ship. If we don't, that's it. No more cruises.
Well, maybe not.

I wouldn't go this time, either. Hurricanes are unpredictable. You can always try again later.

One of the other times, the hurricane had gone past the port and the ship sailed, but we were several hundred miles away and with the storm damage, we couldn't get there.

Hopefully, your toe gets better.
As for the cruise, it is a hard pass for me with a hurricane in the horizon.

She could be right. I told my husband that if this trip is prevented, I think God's trying to tell us something. Like don't go on a cruise.

We decided to cancel the cruise. There were just too many reasons not to go. Maybe another time.

It almost sounds like the 2 of you are not destined to take a cruise this year.
We are listening to the news about the storm also because 2 of my hubby's sisters and their hubbies are on their way back from a 3 week cruise. They began in Florida, went up along the east coast and then across the Atlantic to Portugal, and now they are expected back this week.
Sorry to hear about your toe. I finally got an appointment to see the surgeon for my gall bladder, it isn't until February, but at least the wheels are in motion now.

@1creekgirl I think that you must have made the right decision based on the other bookings that you have had this year.
I still do not have a date for my surgery, only a consult with the doctor.

We had to cancel the last one in Sept because of my ruptured tendon. We have the travel insurance, but unless there's too much damage between here and Florida, we'd have to forfeit our payment.

Hmmm, it seems like somebody or something does not want you to take a cruise. Would the cruiseship alert you if they weren't going to sail that day?
