National Pickle Day

United States
November 14, 2022 8:33am CST
Happy Monday Everyone! it's sunny but cold and I guess our warmer temperatures are gone and winter is just ahead. I get a kick out of some of these days that are designated for certain things and I heard that today is National Pickle Day! I love pickles do you? My favorite is a crunchy Kosher Dill I also enjoy sweeter pickles like bread n butter and gerkins. I remember my mom loving to eat gerkin pickles with cheddar cheese. If you're a pickle lover what's your favorite? and have you ever made your own?

I love mixing sweet relish in my tuna salad too. My daughter is a pickle freak and loves loves loves pickles but thinks I"m crazy when I add relish to my tuna. She'll eat pickles on the side if she has a tuna sandwich but not mixed in. I think she's weird

Pickles are something I do not dislike, eat very few times, and have to be in the mood for—and I am rarely in the mood for a pickle. In fact, the only reason there are even any in the house is because my wife likes them. lol I have never made my own. As for winter, it can bite me.

Winter is just an expected evil, that we face each year.

I like pickles but my daughter is a pickle freak and gets a huge jar at least once a week. I like them with burgers or sandwiches but can't say I'm crazy about them either. Winter can bite me too

My all-time favorite pickles would be the ones my mother made... the dill ones, not the others. And she made all kinds of relishes, too, but I wasn't fond of them, either.

Dill are certainly my favorite. I will rarely eat sweet pickles but for some reason I bought a jar. They are good with cheese sandwiches though.

I love crunchy Kosher dills too, they are my favorite. I remember my mother used to do up so many pickles that she would put them into the washing machine to start the process and get them clean because the sinks were not big enough-she did a ton of pickles.

I really love dill pickles, but my favorites are the homemade sweet pickles that a church friend makes. I would gladly buy them from her, but she wouldn't let me and then feel obligated to give them to me.

My mom used to make dill pickles every year. So that would be my favorite. I've had bread and butter, but I find I don't like them as much as dill. I love covering my burgers with sliced dills, and I mean cover, layering if I can.

I like lots of dill pickles slices on my burgers too. Our dog gizmo used to love pickles and you couldn't open a jar without him begging for some. I like sweet with sandwiches and like to mix sweet pickle relish with my tuna.

Ha! There seems to be a day for anything and everything! I used to love dills. My taste buds have changed as I've aged. I prefer sweet, bread and butter pickles now.

it's funny that my tastes have changed too. I would only eat dill for many years but now i've expanded my pickle palate (lol). I still like dill with burgers but prefer sweet with sandwiches.

Pickles aren't my favorite food. I will eat some pickle relish in my egg salad or on a bratwurst in a bun but I don't want pickles otherwise. Pretty eats dill pickles all the time. I don't know how she manages to do it. YUCK! I hope you enjoy your day today.

I love pickles and used to make my own pickles but rarely now. I love sweet pickles not sour ones now. I used to take sweet and sour pickles when I was young.
