Our plans for tomorrow

Citizen’s Centre while we were out. We discovered we could join for a week which we did and yesterday enjoyed lunch there at a very cheap price. I had tuna mornay and Vince had squid rings. We had pavlova and fruit salad for dessert. There is a ‘special’ each day together with about six dishes which are available every day.
There is also a range of activities. We are going tomorrow morning to play euchre (a card game) and the games will finish just in time for us to have lunch there again. If we lived here or if we come again for a longer period, we’d probably get more involved. It’s nice to eat out without feeling that you’re busting the bank to pay for your meal.
The photo is Vince’s of a wall hanging at the Centre. The flowers from left to right are Sturt’s desert pea, blue leschenaultia, everlasting (I think), fringed lily and kangaroo paw. They are done in textiles and embroidery. I thought they were really lovely.

@much2say They differ but this one had about five or six rooms including a big dining area, a library and a computing room. There were toilets with disabled facilities. It would be shire-owned and maintained. Shire = county I guess. They have a full programme of events/activities every day but not so many on the weekends.

That's a beautiful wall hanging..That makes me itch to do some embroidery..I used to do a lot during my younger age. Now, I have not done it in years.
Citizen's centre sounds good and glad that they let you join for a short period too.

@FourWalls When I never knew about pineapple fritters, we went to the drive-in before we were married and Vince bought me fritters and ice-cream. I think that's when I decided I'd marry him after all!

You are good in knowing all the complicated names of those flowers in that photo. I am more with common names.

The picture is interesting.... I've only seen one made like that before and it was on a wall in the motel I worked at when I was in my early twenties. It was a picture of the motel made with materials found around the motel itself. I wish I'd taken a photo of the picture. It was nice, too.
I'm glad you guys were able to join for the week you're staying there. I hope you enjoy the card game.

The picture is beautiful with all the technique in making it. I haven't done embroidery in many years but I did remember how much I enjoyed it when my eyes were better. Dang eyesight and old aging
Sounds like you had a nice meal at the Citizens Centre and hope you enjoy the card game and another lunch there
