Richard Campbell who is the owner of a male cat named Calvin is grateful that a fellow professor who is employed by the University of Miami of Ohio University in Oxford Ohio saw his cat that was adopted by Richard in 2017 as well as the cat's brother from a tree in 2017.
The professor who found Calvin at the University Of Miami Ohio is Susan Prochaska who saw the cat wandering around in the Natural Areas late last month.
After Susan managed to capture Calvin just before Halloween. After Calvin was captured by Susan, Calvin was taken to a local animal hospital where a veterinarian scanned the cat who had stomach parasites and tick bites after the cat had been scanned when a microchip was found on his coat.
Calvin was reunited with his owner recently thanks to the act of kindness of both Susan and the veterinarian.
What amazes Richard who is a former professor at the University of Miami Of Ohio is that Calvin is an indoor cat that is out of his character to go outside and not return for a period of 18 months.
Reunited and it feels so good as singers Peaches and Herb had a hit song in 1992.

It could be that the kitten was scared either by his owner or another animal.

That is likely what happened since some cats like to be outdoors and since they are not used to being in a new neighborhood, they wind up getting lost.

I know of some cats who like to run away from home since they are homesick of their former homes like my cat Mumps who ran away from a few months ago after we moved from the previous home that was damaged by the hurricanes two years ago.

Lolly our pet cat returned after 3 years. Preiti our dog and he were great friends as they grew together but when he returned Preiti would not have him. He went back and never returned

@Deepizzaguy I agree, I had to do a few things in the garden yesterday, just the last tasks before winter. My cat stayed with me all the time inspecting what I was doing.

I'm so glad Calvin was reunited with his owner. It's a dangerous world out there for an inside cat. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Cat are certainly survivors aren't they. Apparently, the kitty adapted and avoided the dangers of being outdoors so long. Outdoor cats have a much shorter lifespan only 2-5 years according to experts.

Thanks for the information since most cats that I know of can survive a long time outdoors. The only cat that likes to take a walk outside for a few hours in Burt.

@dgobucks226 That is likely the case of the three kittens that come to visit my current home are likely owned by one of my neighbors who keeps the kittens inside of their home.

@Deepizzaguy We have a couple of outdoor cats in my neighborhood, that have lived for many years, but I believe the owners also keep them indoors too.
