Slow Lorises are primates that live in Southeast Asia, including southern China, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. . They inhabit lowland forests, evergreen forests, deciduous forests, swamps, shrublands, hardwood forests, bamboo forests, and more.
Slow Lorises might be primates, but they resemble sloths more than monkeys. They have short limbs, large round eyes, and small stub tails. They have dark patches of fur around their eyes. They are nocturnal, so they’re active during the night and sleep during the day. They are herbivores and feed on leaves, fruit, seeds, berries, sap, gum, and stems, and can include spiders, termites, worms, bird eggs, and lizards in their diet.
When it comes to breeding, slow lorises breed with multiple partners and it takes six months for the female to give birth. Twins are not uncommon, but most of the time they birth only one infant. The young ones are weaned between three and six months old.
