Gift Baskets

Happy Tuesday Everyone! it's a rainy, dreary, dismal day here today. It isn't light rain and it isn't pouring either just a constant rain. I have all the lights on as it's just too dark without them. My daughter in law was supposed to have her surgery at 10:30 and she was all prepped and ready to go. Seems she's still waiting and the doctor is running behind. I imagine she's anxious having to just wait until they wheel her into the operating room. That's the latest text I got from my son. Yesterday I got a huge box delivered from my Aunt and Uncle for Christmas. It's filled with all sorts of breakfast goodies (pancake mix, Vermont maple syrup, sorted jams and other stuff). I called her this morning to say thanks and how much I appreciate their thoughtfulness. After we hung up from our phone chat, coffee and catching up I felt guilty that she beat me in sending off a gift. Every year we send each other something but I had only online shopped for some ideas without making a decision or purchase. Time to take action and I ordered them a gift basket from Harry & David and it's says it's ready to ship. Hopefully they'll get it in about a week. Right after I hit check-out cart our internet went out. What a stroke of luck that it didn't go out while I was in the middle of my purchase. It's back on now There's so many options to choose from when looking for a gift basket. Do you ever send gift baskets?

No, I don't send gift baskets. And it's dreary and damp here today, too, but not outright raining at the moment. As if the weather isn't enough to give me a headache, I awoke with a nosebleed, and of course, the roofers are making quiite a racket.

@Marilynda1225 I took an extra strength tylenol but ended up having to take one with codeine later in the day because the headache wasn't going away.

When I was working three jobs and didn't have time to stop to think, I sent gift baskets to everyone... I only slowed down on the weekend. I worked as a night clerk in a motel on Friday and Saturday from 6 pm to 6 am. I took Pretty to work with me. She and I played board games or cards until time for her to go to bed and then I had time between customers to do what I wanted. (Mostly, that meant I slept for around five hours...) I've never gotten a gift basket for myself. I always hoped people really did enjoy them.

@Marilynda1225 I liked money too much back then. I should have spent more time with friends and family, instead.

Wow you really were a hard worker and yet you still found time to send gift baskets to people. I'm sure they appreciated your thoughtfulness

We used to send gift baskets to some of the clients of my husband. I liked the fact that we could pick up what to put in the basket and the store delivered the baskets.

We're thinking of getting a gift basket for some people who are down on their luck at the moment. They do have some very lovely ones or we might even make up our own.

I hope things went well with your DIL. That was a very thoughtful gift from your Aunt and Uncle. They should really enjoy your gift basket. We've never sent out a gift basket. Have a great day.

I hope that the surgery is over and your daughter-in-law is healing. Even if it is only a minute or two waiting in the hallway to be wheeled in is nerve wracking. I do not send alot of gift baskets anymore. I did find a nice place here in this city, but they do not delivery outside of the city, and before we moved we sent alot from a nice fruit place, they had great fruit baskets.
