Christmas sweets

I have never made Christmas sweets other than during Christmas time. No reason to explain
The number of items that I used to make has now dwindled down to two - date and walnut cake and rice ladoos. I do buy a few others.
The rice is washed, dried roasted and powdered. Coconut and jaggery is pounded and the rice powder added to it gradually along with raisins and cardamom powder adn thoroughly pounded. Ladoos are formed and coated with rice powder
What Christmas sweets are you planning to do?

I don’t usually do typical sweets for holidays. I just find a recipe I am craving or that looks good and make it. My moms birthday was today and I made Red velvet cheesecake cupcakes and they were so good. It was my first time making them. They looked like something that may be good to share for Christmas too due to the color.

There are so many that have fallen in the lap of so called Christmas sweets. I used to make jujubes at Christmas time. You can add yours too.
Happy Birthday to your Mom.

I have ordered a pecan pie again. I wanted a fruit cake but all were not good in the online shop.
And I would love to make one, but it is so expensive all the ingredients to do so.
So just pecan pie for now.
Those look really tasty what you made.

I am surely going to make cinnamon swirls cookies and for the day of Christmas the "Christmas Yule Cake". It is a sponge cake, filled with a chocolate mousse, rolled so that it looks like a miniature log, covered with more chocolate mousse and dusted with powdered sugar to look like it has snowed on it.

I had gone for cooking classes and there I learnt to make Swiss Roll. It looks simple but one needs practice.

@allknowing You are right, it's not difficult, but you need some practice.

No, not a home baker. I like just add water, mixes, that I sometimes but, but that's it.

@allknowing No, my point was it was just a day to bake cookies. No special day.

I am not planning to do any, but very possibly could change my mind. I have never made a cheesecake, at least not a big one. I have made little ones that are individual ones. I recently bought a springform pan and would like to try my hand at a large one.

Good luck with your cheese cake . Here it is tradition to make sweets at home and in the olden days I used to make several.

@allknowing Interesting. I had planned to make a pecan pie this Christmas but since hubby has not been well, I probably won't.
