March of the Wooden Soldiers

“March of the Wooden Soldiers” with the old-time comedy duo of Laurel and Hardy has been a long-time Christmas tradition for me. I watch it several times over the holiday season. You don’t have to be a child to enjoy this and the comedy is great. It is a movie that will return you to childhood. There are characters like Little Bo Peep, Tom Tom, and even The Three Little Pigs among others. You will greatly enjoy the march of true to life-sized wooden soldiers. Truly it is a delight to watch and oh, yes beware of the evil creatures living beneath Toyland. I will keep you in suspense about them but believe me if you can get to see this movie you will not regret it. As in the movie “A Christmas Carol” where the unpleasant character is Scrooge here the enemy is Mr. Barnaby. Even Santa Clause is in it and you can find it on YouTube where I watched it today.

For some reason I do not recall this one, but I am very sure I have seen it. I used to watch all the Laurel and Hardy movies Sandra. Funny you should mention this, as I was thinking of the beautiful Shirley Temple movies I used to watch at Christmas time too.

One of my favorites by that comedy duo. I've watched it many times around Thanksgiving. Classic comedy by Laurel and Hardy mixed into a kid's nursery rhyme. Bet the little ones were scared of those evil Bogeymen. That picture was made in 1934 and even today is entertaining to watch!

@dgobucks226 I always watch it and love it. You know in the old days kids were scared of boogeymen under their beds or such but in modern times I read about a kid who got scared in the night and told his mom and dad that he was scared there were terrorists under the bed which makes me sad about how times have changed.

@RasmaSandra Yes, so true! With social media today the age of innocence for kids is a very short time span. They seem to mature so quickly.

I think we all have some holiday movie traditions. For me, it is watching "Holiday Inn" with Bing Crosby. Great songs and some silliness and romance thrown in.

I think I saw that one a couple of years ago. If it's the one I'm thinking about, it is a good movie.
