You still see the Kombi vans around nowadays. I'm glad your husband liked the photos but I hope they didn't give him any ideas.

@JudyEv - We still see young people using the Kombi, it was the most successful vehicle from Volkswagen, same as the Beetle, very uncomfortable car.

I showed to my husband, this year we are not allowed to light the house outside because of scarcity of electricity, I took no risks.

Isn't the whole reasoning behind putting up lights to dispell the darkness of the bleak mid-winter? Which you're not in... and with that many lights, no chance of seeing the stars at night.

It was. I had an old school friend who lived on the canals and she once swam across to the other-side neighbour for a party and pushed her Esky/cooler full of drinks ahead of her.

Yes I noticed the VW van right away! We're going to have a walk around and look at some of the lights in the village one evening. Nothing like that of course!
