How Things Change

Back in the 90s, I would really decorate the house for the holidays. I had a herb garden at that time and would cut rosemary, sage, and even a little basil to add to my holly and pine sprigs. They made a grand wreath for the front door. I didn't put it up until right at Thanksgiving and it usually lasted just long enough for the holidays. (Being out in the cold weather seemed to keep it pretty nice.) Then I had poinsettias in the small living room and some mistletoe in the doorway into the kitchen. And a Christmas tree in one corner of course.I really enjoyed decorating. I left the lights up to my ex. Nowadays I have a festive candle, and my rotating mercury glass Christmas tree in my room, and that's about it. What things do you like to decorate with in your home this time of year? Picture is from Google.

I haven't decorated yet but I will. I have a small Christmas tree and a manger and purple lights, Once I get it all done I can see my three cas taking it all apart but at least it is worth a try and can be amusing

We don't do a lot of decorating. We have a new tree this year. It's only small at 3ft (our old one was 4ft). Most of my old decorations had broken so we bought new ones. The old ones weren't that old but they were cheap plastic ones that I'm surprised lasted as long as they did! We also wanted new things so that my husband and I could choose them together. We'd just used mine before. We've been married for 3 years now so I thought it was time for my husband to have some input We've got red and sliver baubles with some gold beads. My husband likes red and gold, I prefer silver and either blue or purple. This was our compromise. We won't put up anything else. I did some Christmas paintings a few years ago so they sometimes come out. Other than that, it's just the Christmas stockings in front of the fireplace.

I lost some lovely old ones in a marriage and I miss them. They were given to me by my grandmother. I just didn't want to have to see him to go get them.

I have a big holly tree in the garden as well as rosemary and sage. I use them to decorate my front door.

I used to make wreaths with the trimmings of our cedar Christmas tree adding ornaments and mistletoe. We also strung colored lights around the outside of the house and shrubbery , but in a small apartment I only put up a tiny tree .I set Christmas figurines around the tree.

All we do it put the two-foot tree on the pedestal and plug it in; and a wreath goes on the door. That's it.

All I put up is my small tree everry year. No kids left at home so there is no need for a big tree.

When Pretty was little, I decorated the house for each holiday. After she graduated from college and moved back home, I just decorated for Christmas. When I started working at Walmart, they burned me out on the holidays so early that I never wanted to decorate. I still don't feel like decorating and I left Walmart two years ago.

I have my trees up inside. Outside are lights and inflatables.
