Hey everyone, how are you doing?
I am back to share how I did today with my food and everything.
Weight - still about the same
Blood sugars - started high at 291. I did get down to 180's but last check was 206.
What did I eat today?
Meal 1 - 2 servings deli chicken and 1 serving cheese cubes
Meal 2 - 4 oz salmon with ranch
Meal 3 - I made "finger steaks" using cube steak and breading them with protein powder. But I didn't like them. So just had some peanut butter and sugar free chocolate chips.
This was a pretty low calorie day. Low protein as well. I did keep the carbs pretty low though. Not an amazing day by far. Not sure how I am going to do this with not really liking to eat just meat and cheese and eggs.
What do you think?
Also, if you missed it here is my post with my lab results that I got back.
I like that St. Luke's has their patient portal. I can message the doctor through it and see test results the next day (or as soon as they are done...

Sounds good. Maybe you are just supposed to be where you are. Weight and all I mean.

@celticeagle Well I don't think it's a good thing to carry around 100 extra pounds. Guess I will have to go back to working out 3 hours a day 7 days a week. Lost 75 pounds doing that and counting calories.

I remember when my Dad's blood sugar hit 250 or higher, his doctor told him he had to go to the ER. 291...that's really high, at least it is in my world. I hope you are feeling OK. Don't pay any attention to me, it just sounds scary high. I know everyone is different.

My sugars were on an average over 300 for November and December at least. I felt fine mostly, just tired and out of breath when doing simple things. I've felt worse trying to kick the carbs...but it's like going through carb withdrawel pretty much.

I know I am not a doctor and won't pretend I know what to do. 300's are serious, I am rather surprised you didn't end up hospitalized. If you don't have one, can you get one of those finger things that measure your blood oxygen and such? My son has one I have to keep handy as he gets weak and out of breath due to his low blood counts.

@MarieCoyle I was hospitalized a year ago when they were in the 400s. I just can't seem to stay away from the carbs. Just meat, eggs, and cheese just is not appetizing to me. But that's what I need to do. I need to eat a carnivore diet, zero carbs...
I don't have one....but I have a watch that measures that and blood pressure and everything.
I know when I was really sick a year ago, I was so out of breath I couldn't do anything and I got so dizzy, it was scary...so I went to the ER.

I think I need more than just the long lasting insulin....I think I made my pancreas give up. Normally just 2 or 3 days eating low carb my sugars would go back to normal.
