Of taking pictures and asking others to do it for you

So I love taking photos. I love to look at them and reminisce about that exact time the photo was taken. My husband is completely the opposite. He doesn’t like taking photos. In fact he doesn’t have any pictures of him when he was a young boy. How sad, right? Our kids were asking him what he looked like when he was a child and sadly, no photos to show them. So now, if I had to drag him to take photos with me or our family, I would do that. Lol
And fun fact. If you’re out and alone and you want your picture taken, ask an ASIAN. Asians would go out of their way to take your photo, even direct you to have the best angle. And Asians would take more than one shot for you to choose from. And ask you if the quality is fine.
We are cool like that.
Photo is of me and my co class officers in Grade 4. Can you find me?

Nice photo I am not sure the girl in the red dress? These days I would be afraid of asking someone to take my camera they might run away with it,

@DaddyEvil said the same thing. It’s not that bad here. We can still ask strangers to take our photo and expect to get our smartphones back. At least in my experience.
the red dress gave it away?

@sol_cee People here are mostly honest but there will always be a few who ruin good things for everyone else. If someone OFFERS to take your photo, DON'T let them touch your things. Find someone who isn't interested in you or what you're doing and ask them to take your photo if you really, really want to be in the picture, too. Or, better yet, buy a cheap camera you won't care if you lose to give to someone to take your photo.

It's always hard to pick one person out of a line-up... Just ask people trying to find the criminal who robbed them from a line-up of people... Maybe the girl in the blue dress?
If you come to the US, DON'T ask someone to take your photo! That's the fastest way to lose a camera or phone!

It's not my fault is you all look like criminals.

In big cities, which is where most people vacationing here go, yes, that bad. If you come to my city, then I'll take pictures of you AND you'll get your camera or phone back.

@DaddyEvil I dare you to show your 4th grade pic
Oh boy, that’s bad for tourism. Here, policemen are everywhere (in tourist spots) to take care of the people

Well I am lazy to take my photos too. Although I have lots of picture in my childhood since my Grandfather have some kind of a vintage camera and loves to take pictures when we have an occasion at their place. But unfortunately most of them are gone now since we were frequented by typhoons and floodings so most of them were damaged by it.

I am guessing the red dress one? Kawaii
!!!!
Wow, does your husband's family have photos of young him? I love photos too . . . proof of existence and good times, right?
We used to say that about getting pictures taken by Asians too
. These days we just do the group selfie as much as possible . . . don't want anyone to touch our phones. However, sometimes people will come up to us and ask . . . so when they do, we ask for the favor back and all usually do.

@sol_cee Ah, so the red dress IS you
!
Some guys just don't like taking photos I guess! A friend during Christmas got a shot of herself with her teen kids at some beach . . . she said it was so hard to get the son in the photo but she got it. Why do these things have to be a struggle, right?
Hee hee. Well you've lived in Japan so you know real Japan-Japanese. Not all Japanese people here are that polite
.

What gave it away?
His family isn’t into photos either.
We had Christmas in his family side and I wanted to take a family photo because everyone was there and it was a struggle to get them altogether to pose in one photo
Japanese people are super polite. They never say no to taking photos. Even the salary men at the train stations loll

Hmm I always see Asian people taking photos and selfies but I assumed it’s just a stereotypical thing when people make comments like you have here. You really think it’s something Asians love to do that much? I love to take photos too but hate my photo being taken.

I look back on old photos fondly. I regret I did not have a camera with me all the time to capture those special moments. Good to know about Asians as photo takers.
You want to look your best for a photo-op
