Thinking About Elvis (and Lisa Marie)

What a surprise to hear of Lisa Marie Presley's passing. I mean literally for before I discovered this news, I was watching You Tube videos of her father Elvis performing some of his famous songs. When I finished listening to "The King," I went to my web page and noticed the shocking headlines that Elvis and Priscilla Presley's daughter had died. Here I was thinking about Elvis and to see this news was so ironic!
So, I clicked on the news about Lisa Marie's death and saw it was cardiac arrest, just days after her appearance at the Golden Globes. What struck me in watching the video of her at the Awards was her appearance. Her eyes looked sunken, her speech was sluggish, and she seemed frail leaning on the actor who played Elvis in the film.
Life can be unpredictable! When I was viewing the You Tube videos of Elvis performing at age 38 in his Hawaii special, and then his last performance just four years later in 1977, I was shocked at how much his appearance had changed. My thought was what a tragedy to have died so young at only 42. Same thing with Lisa Marie who in this day and age would be considered middle age at 54. em]sad[/em]
My final thought was what they had in common. They both became singers. They looked alike in appearance (erily so.) They both died of heart failure. And they left this planet way too soon.
What was your reaction to the news of Lisa Marie's passing?
***Here is a video of Elvis and his beautiful daughter Lisa Marie singing a duet together of "In the Ghetto" one of the many Presley song's I like. I'm sure you Elvis fans have your own personal favorite.

That is a lot to have in common. My thoughts are with her mother. I would think it is very hard to lose a child.

@dgobucks226 It could well have done. It's not easy being a celebrity, that's for sure.

@JudyEv Definitely! So, many tragic examples prove that statement.

I also wrote about this. What I am thinking that there must have been a specific reason for this because she was so rich that surely she had a doctor she could turn to so ti was very surprising, Also where was mom looking seeing her daughter not in good condition,

Yes, sometimes some of the saddest things in life come out of nowhere, rather unexpectedly, and yet in hindsight, they should have been expected, and greater care taken, of themselves.

@dgobucks226 Regular checkups also help, and not just thinking that we do not need them.
Everybody needs to get checked for things like diabetes, colon cancer, heart health, etc, as you mentioned too.

Your right, that's a good point. Yet, some are still surprised it happens. I wonder if Priscilla noticed if anything was wrong with her daughter's health. I think mental health is another factor along with the physical in one's well-being.

When I read about this a couple of days ago, I was saddened to hear that she was only 54.

Yes, we think celebs have a wonderful life, but for some that is not the case.
