The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Officers Zac Howerton and Neal Brewington worked together to rescue a deer that had stuck on his head a plastic jar which earned the nickname "Jughead" who was seen running on the streets on Cannelton Indiana who worked with Perry County Sheriff's Office Deputy Marsh and a local person named Jimmy Maffia to catch the loose deer and knock him out with a tranquilizer. After the deer passed out from the tranquilizer, the officers of the wildlife were able to remove the plastic jar from the head of the deer. when the deer came to his senses, he was free to go back to home in the forest. What most likely happened to the deer was that the deer was hungry and when he saw the plastic bucket with food inside, the deer decided to eat from the plastic bucket and he made the error of having his head stuck inside which could have been fatal to the deer.

This happens more than we even know. A neighbor was feeding some stray feral cats, one of them showed up with a glass jar stuck on it's head. It finally went in to their garage, and they were able to shut the door with kitty inside. Then they had a hard time cornering kitty to get the jar off of it's head. If you have ever had to handle a feral cat, it's next to impossible. They wore heavy jackets and gloves because it attacked with it's claws, it was scared. They finally got the jar off, they had to break it, the cat was fine and they let it back outside. It's kind of like plastic bags or chip bags--animals put their heads inside to lick the bag and then they can suffocate. I am glad they got the jar from the deer.

One of my cats who is named Munster is a feral cat. Just trying to touch her will have on attack mode on anyone she does not like.

@Deepizzaguy I fed a colony of feral cats for about a year, they lived in an old abandoned barn. They were really, really wild, I just left them food and water once a day and moved on. One evening I saw one of the bigger Toms take on not one, but two raccoons trying to eat the food I had left--and the cat won that round.

I think that if people are caught littering they should be severely fined, The poor deer must have been so scared and I am glad it was saved,

There are signs on many roads in Louisiana that say if anyone is caught littering, a large fine will be imposed.

@MarieCoyle I guess some people do not care about damages that their actions do unless they are affected by their actions.

@Deepizzaguy Sadly, so many people just don't care. I try to set a good example by putting trash where it belongs.

I am glad that someone helped out this poor animal trapped in that plastic bucket. If that was not caught it could die from starvation since it won't be able to feed.

@Deepizzaguy I know since the deer would have struggled not understanding they she is being helped. The tranquilizer was the best option to calm her down and prevented it from harming those people trying to help her out of that situation.

Poor deer. Our Leah dog got her head stuck in a plastic pumpkin bucket when she was a pup. Thank God hubby had put up a fence otherwise we would not have caught her. I chased her down and hubby managed to wiggle the bucket from her head.

@Deepizzaguy Leah was an adventurous pup. She also got a bone stuck on her canine teeth. We made an emergency run to the Vet for that incident.

Jughead seems a very appropriate name for this poor deer.

Jughead is the nickname of the Archie Andrews comic book characters since his given name is Forsythe Jones.

That is very true that animals have their heads stuck in jars and other objects inside of their heads due to careless persons who leave their junk on the streets.

@CarolDM You are right since I have seen on television shows how animals need to be rescued by wildlife officials when they get hurt.
