Remember the Ice Princess?

This photo on the left, if it loads, is our granddaughter, the Ice Princess when she first attended overnight camp as she just turned 7 with her big sister. The photo on the right is of her as a big sister after just turning 14.
Our Ice Princess is now a freshman in high school! She loves her new school, is doing extremely well academically, and has added many to her friends list. She did get into a private high school in New York City, but the family decided to live in New Jersey.
She is still competing in figure skating, but her high school wanted her to choose a sport within the school. Well, she chose crew. She made the junior varsity team last week and loves it. Ice skating opens in Lake Placid, New York in February with her first competition of 2023.
Our son, her daddy, won’t be able to attend the competition. He has business meetings in Miami. If his schedule allows it, we will try to get together!
I can’t get enough of my kids or grandchildren. They are our life!

@LeaPea2417 You probably saw it in a movie without realizing it. I have seen it in movies and also noticed the Harvard crew team rowing for practice when we were in Boston. I forgot to mention they use oars. lol

The big sisters act as a friend to the little ones and show them fun things to do with campers their age. Some kids are nervous at first, and they always have a big sister to turn to.
Crew is a racing rowing sport involving 8 crew and a coxswain.

Exactly! I hope I explained crew well enough. I really don’t know much about it except for the Harvard University races. I’ve seen them practicing and have seen movies involving crew. lol

I was thinking about your great-granddaughter a couple of months ago. I figured she was 2 years old. Wow!
Thank you. We hope so, too. She showed me her routine without skates in November, but needed to learn the rest of it. Time is ticking!!!!!

My baby is growing like a weed now! She's my height and her doctor expects her to grow to 5'8" or just under.
I'm sure you have seen crew. It's calm water racing with 8 to a boat plus a coxswain. They row with two oars in synchronization.

I saw the Harvard crew team practicing on the Charles River one or two times when we were in Boston and saw a movie involving a crew team not long ago. That's it!!! Otherwise, I know zilch about crew.
