The Uninvited Guest

Like an uninvited guest it arrives and takes up residence; Aging sometimes takes its time , but other times it simply appears; Bringing with it signs of wear and tear. Removing an unwanted guest is not easy; We try our best to evict, but may face a strong resist. Plastic surgeries, creams and oils, food and herbs are all entered into the battle; Every victory that is won makes us happy, regardless how little. Some refuse to give up without a fight , but l believe those who accept what is happening probably sleep better at night. What do you think? Is it better to let the aging process have its way or will you fight it?

What sense would fighting the aging process have? You can't win.

Perhaps only slow it down a little. Time marches on , it cannot be stopped.

Apart from dyeing my hair there is nothing else I do to make me look younger.

@Kandae11 Dyeing the hair white is a ridiculous idea and bleaching means it remains permanent.

Nothing wrong with that. Younger folk dye their hair in all the colors you can think of - even white. Well for the white color the hair is usually bleached.

With some of the problems of aging, there's no winning. With others, there is always a good diet, proper exercise and the right amount of sleep. I haven't decided yet.

@Kandae11 I still don't look my age but I have gained too much weight during the pandemic and am slowly taking it off. I still have health issues caused by my thyroid malfunctioning. The pills can't take care of everything.

@DaddyEvil. Many people have put on weight during the pandemic , and it can be hard to get rid of especially if there are other issues which can hinder the process. I can tell that you look younger than your age and you will look even younger if you lose the extra weight, so do your best, that is all you can do.

I have seen people who do all the right things and seem ageless. And l have seen those who do what l consider the wrong things and they too appear ageless. Then there are others who do all the wrong things and it shows , so one never knows. Anyway , l personally would prefer to live the way l think is best for my mental and physical health.

I'm not a lady who dyes her hair purple when it really is gray. I do exercises in the pool to keep me stronger and hopefully not fall but that's about it.

Rightly said. I think it's one of the laws of nature to age. We all age and can't stop it or rewind it. I don't think we can fight it either. We have to accept it and can keep some life changes in order to maintain our good health. Have a good day. Take care

Impossible to fight an enemy that you already know will win. You can try to look younger for a while, but your body ages even if you do plastic surgeries to look younger.

@Kandae11 A face lifting must be repeated every 5 to 6 years, that is why after a few years those actress look like a wax statue.

Accepting the inevitable without a fight means losing that much sooner. The more active I am, the more care I take of my body, and the proper foods and diets will keep aging at bay. We might age, but we won't look or act older.

Since after all these years people say I still look good, I'm going to continue to stay that way. My biggest focus is to eat healthy and stay in shape with exercise. I hope I don't have to get any face lift or Botox. I'll probably use some good face creams. I found one with Avon that works wonders.

We should always try to take care of ourselves both mentally and physically - both are intertwined. I was surprised when l read about the various physical ailments that are caused by stress. I would not do any cosmetic surgery either and so far so good . l try to eat right and l use olive oil on my face at night.
