We will not be swimming today

The water temperature at the pool is 77 degrees F. as of 5:30 this morning.
AND the boiler is broke.
And it is cloudy and gray.
The pool is indoors but we have to walk about a city block to get in.
I think that with the water being more than 20 degrees cooler than body temperature it is just too cold.
We now have three kiddos and their helpers who swim. But not today.

No, this is a school, we will not be watching television. It was nice enough for outdoor recess.

I dont enjoy cold water swimming much..not a big fan of indoor pools in the first place..too much chlorine. The scent bothers me. I think you made a good decision.

Around here they use less chlorine and opt for a "salt" based purifier. I like lakes for swimming.

@GardenGerty That is better for your skin. I prefer lakes or outdoor pools for swimming

@rebelann Depending on sun and wind 53 F can feel pretty nice.

The water is that cool. 20 degrees lower than normal body temperature. We got up to 40 today.

You don't want to get hypothermia! Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

@LindaOHio I have not checked on your posts since last night. I know you got the furnace relit and I was glad for you. I ended up with waterlines broke in the winter of 2014 so it was very similar.

@GardenGerty The circuit board for the furnace should be in today. We also may have someone coming to jet out the basement drains.

It depends on how deep the water is and whether you have some natural buoyancy.

The boiler is broken and it will take some time to get it repaired.

That water temperature would not be very warm.

That seems like a long walk to get into the pool. Does seem a bit too cool for swimming this morning.

The building we use is directly across the street, but the main entrance, and the entrance with a ramp are facing away from the school and the ramp is actually at the other end of the building.

It would hardly be worth the effort of getting dressed and going.

We didn't, as the temp kept dropping. Boiler is broken and needs repaired.
