The headlights are pointed north.
I’m keeping an eye on the weather between here and there to see if the vacation lasts a couple more days or a few more hours. Meanwhile, tune in for another episode of my favorite TV show theme songs!
Moonlighting - Al Jarreau
Man, did this guy have a smooth voice!!!
Moonlighting was the start of Bruce Willis’ career and a revitalization of Cybill Shepherd’s career. It was, for the first couple of years, hilarious. Then there was romance and all that, and then Willis made a movie and decided he liked $20 million a flick instead of $350,000 an episode.
The show endures, as does this marvelous tune by Al Jarreau. This and his 1981 hit “We’re in This Love Together” are his best-remembered hits.
Good blending of comedy and drama in the show, and the perfect blend of jazz and smooth R&B in the song!
Moonlighting
Written by Lee Holdridge and Al Jarreau
Recorded by Al Jarreau
From Moonlighting, 1985-89

I remember I watched that series when we lived in Monte Carlo. I cannot remember the music, but it's true that the French "translated" all the music of the American shows and the results were often HORRIBLE! The song they "translated" for "The Fall Guy" was particularly horrible.

@FourWalls I am sure you can find on YouTube the intro music of "The Fall Guy" in French ("L'homme qui tomne à pic"), if you want to listen, you will see how bad this is.

I saw a one-legged bird at the beach the other day….nah, skip that joke. Too obvious.

I liked that show, and thought they were good together, Bruce was even sexy then but I really don't remember the theme song at all.

I never watched Moonlighting and wasn't familiar with this song. Al Jarreau is a real smoothie though.

I never could get into that show. Theme song is kind of sexy but reminds me why I could not get into that show. To corporate for me.

I like this song. Watched the show-off and on. Maybe I need to look for it again and watch it. Safe travels.
They calling for snow for our area on Sunday. 1-2 inches. The good thing is if it does, it's been warmer so it won't last too long.
