Happy National Pizza Day

I know I am posting this kind of late but no matter. If you were not aware of February 9 is National Pizza Day you can catch up on it by ordering a pizza or having a pizza tomorrow. Here are some fascinating pizza facts: In the US every year three billion pizzas are sold. Can you imagine? I cannot even remember the last time I ordered a pizza but I know I tried another frozen pizza and was not too happy about it. When I lived in NYC I usually ordered or bought my pizza from a local neighborhood pizzeria. However, the most popular pizza chain is Domino’s. The most popular pizza topping is pepperoni. That I agree with but I have also enjoyed pizzas with everything on them except for pineapple and anchovies. The first pizza restaurant opened up in my hometown of NYC. That I could believe because even in my neighborhood Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY you could not walk for one block without catching the scent of pizza and finding a pizza place. Now the biggest problem I have, if I wanted to order a pizza, is the price. Domino’s is still a good deal with their special pizza deals. Can you imagine that the most expensive pizza in the world costs &12,000? My opinion is that even though it is a pizza I could use this money for so many other things. Astronauts sure are lucky guys. Pizza has been delivered into outer space. I cannot imagine this but hey, if it can be done, why not? Just at the beginning of this year 2023 in January the world’s biggest pizza was made by Pizza Hut. I had one for dinner! A Red Baron frozen deep dish four-cheese pizza from the snack section at the hotel. I was so exhausted from driving through Atlanta in the rain that I didn’t want to go out for “real” food.

After growing up on New York pizza and New Haven pizza, I can't eat and won't eat any chain pizza. The famous Pepe's pizza in New Haven is slowly expanding. I heard one is opening in Boca Raton, and we are going to try it. The price is going up due to the supply chain and the cost of the cheese.

@RasmaSandra We love a good pizza and usually have it once a week. Not so in Florida. They just don't taste the same.

I'm surprised the most popular pizza chain is Dominoes. I never favored them. I always got it from Pizza Hut. I've heard about that expensive pizza. I agree, there are other things to do with that kind of money. Now, a pizza delivery to outer space is interesting.

The pizza I liked more when travelling in the United States was the one I had at Pizza Hut. It's not Pizza Day in Italy today, we celebrated the 17th of January.

I love pizza, did not know was pizza day. We actually have pizza but they undercooked it so not that good. No one wants to finish it off. I mean under cooked is better than over cookers but some how when try to finish cooking it off it becomes a mess. They put to much sauce on it too. leaks every where. Hope people have a better pizza day than that.

I used to love pizza but over the last 10 years the pizza around here isn't all that good. When I asked for thin and crispy crust I'd get a pizza that was burnt. Somehow I don't think a burnt pizza was intended when they finally came up with thin and crispy.

Due to the high cost of food at the grocery store, my relatives and myself have been buying frozen pizzas from the store for eating.

That pizza looks delicious. Sometimes we will order a Domino's and pick it up. I know a lot will be sold this Super Bowl weekend.
