The work of a photographer's wife is never done

My husband belongs to a number of Facebook photographic groups. Some set up challenges for their members. The challenges are designed to stretch the imagination and encourage the use perhaps of new techniques. This challenge involved quite a bit of preparation. We first had to move the dining table back against the closed curtains. A sheet of white card was placed on the table and another placed upright against the curtains. Then he set up two studio lights and placed the casino chips and a few cards on the table. I then had to stand on the step-ladder and drop a handful of cards. I thought the cards would flutter down but they basically just fell in a heap. After a number of attempts, he managed to get a photo he was satisfied with. I was then told my services were no longer needed. If he ever wins any money, I’ll be claiming half!

In my opinion, you deserve 3/4 of the money, if he ever wins any. Your part in the challenge took a lot more patience and understanding than his part did... I'm quite sure you had to go up and down the ladder several times before he was satisfied with the shot he eventually accepted.

And I had to hold them down lower and 'just so' so that he could get the focus correct. I truly deserve a medal, don't you think?

@JudyEv You can have the medal now, or you can get rich from the prize Vince wins later... Which do you choose?

@DaddyEvil There isn't actually a prize for these challenges but who knows? Maybe one day.

That's a great picture. I think you should charge a fee for your services.

@JudyEv Can understand. I too have problems sometimes getting things done and wait for my son to visit so that I can get some help.

Thanks. It wasn't too onerous but there are some things you can't do on your own.

Was the photographer losing his cool as artists are known for that?

Occasionally he gets a bit impatient but not for long as I start threatening to go on strike!

That's true. All he does is press the button. (I nearly said 'pull the trigger' )

As you should... you did the dangerous work... you could have gotten vertigo or a paper cut.

It was quite funny. I had to hold them at a certain spot for him to adjust the focus then lift them up without wavering from the vertical and, on the count of three, let them drop.

Not really, other than put them on his FB groups. We have blown up a few and framed them and they're hanging on the wall. That's why the endurance rides are good in a way. You have an excuse to take dozens of photos.

Yes, I did. I had to drop something in water. He always has the excuse that it's in the 'rules' that he has to take the photo!! But tomorrow - I hope to get one of him tossing pancakes. I'll pretend the first one isn't any good and I'll make him go back a bit, go the left, sorry, I meant the right, toss it higher, not THAT high!! Get the picture??
