I made some changes in the fridge and could put the rest of Luna´s bones there.

As Luna would not eat dog food after I gave her bones, I understood that it was a battle of wills.
So I cleaned the fridge and made space there to place Luna´s bounty of bones. They will be fine there.
And I will not give her a single bone until she understands again that bones are snacks and dog food is food. I know that I´ll win. It has happened before.
I understand her. I might decide on living on chocolates if I had the choice. But that is not healthy.
When we went to the supermarket with Dixie I bought a jar of hard candy. The jar was just beautiful and big enough to put there small pasta.
That night at Dixie´s, I opened the jar and took out a piece of candy. Then I took another and then another. I then decided that I could not have it.
Dixie has some jars with candy in the living room for her grandchildren. I told her to take most of my candy and put it there and give me the jar. I know myself.
Luna is like me. So I will give her a couple of bones every day and give her dish of food as usual.
Do you have problems like these with your pets, animal friends and fur babies?

Yes, that sounds just like Pretty... She'll eat ever piece of candy in the house before she'll eat food.2 people like this

I have learned over the years not to do that. Before learning, I had to undergo a mayor dentist job after I stopped smoking. I ate kilos of hard candy (or rather smoked them). Crushed them with my teeth. It was a big war. I stopped smoking and the dentist won.

@DaddyEvil I prefer chewy candy. And it is the only one that is healthy for my teeth. But when I was giving up smoking I needed hard candy.

@marguicha We don't buy hard candy. We both like chewy candy... But I will only eat one or two pieces in a day and then wait a few days before I want more. Pretty won't buy any candy and then takes the candy I bought and eats it all. I try to hide it but she always finds it.

I cannot stop eating some things. Salami is my worst enemy. The last time I bought a small one I gave it to Claudia as a birthday present. She is like me with salami so she does not buy it.

@LadyDuck Me too. Next time I buy groceries it will be the turn of a small chocolate cake I found, very good and not expensive because it is small.

I usually do that. Yesterday I was guilty because I had left her alone for 3 days and gave her more bones than usual. Now we have a clash of wills. She wants bones and I want her to eat her own food. I know I´ll win sooner or later.

We no longer have fur babies but never gave them too many treats. They were always eager to eat their food. I think we could have fed them more.

I only feed Luna what she needs to be healthy. She is used to that. And snacks are given when I have some. Yesterday it was different because Dixie had saved lots of bones for her and I gave her too many.

@LindaOHio She doesn´t know how lucky she is. Friday, when I was leaving Dixie´s house, she gave me a big bag of bones for Luna. I told her that she was using all her freezer space in Luna´s bones. She said she did not mind. Luna has the nicest human auntie there is.

My dog lives in the garden. Luna has a wonderful house there and all the garden and my former terrace is hers now. But she doesn´t come inside.

My cats loved getting cooked chicken when I made it and also ate some cooked eggs. Then they fell in love with dry Meow Mix and would no longer eat chicken or eggs. So now to give them a variety I order Meow Mix which is a meat based dry food and also order Friskies seafood so they get a variety that way. At least they gave up the human food and went for the cat food instead of the other way around,

Luna has always eaten dog food. And I have given her a small bone or 2 at another hour.
But yesterday I gave her too many bones and now she won´t eat her food.

I wouldn't consider that a problem. If you had a treat or a snack, you would't want your dinner either.
We freeze our bones, so they last longer.

Dixie had too many bones for Luna. I had to make room for them in the fridge.
