Physio Appointment Done

I saw a free physio today for my ever painful neck and pins and needles in my arms. Unfortunately, we are still baffled what is the root of the problem and today he suggested it could be carpal tunnel syndrome. Now he wants me to buy a splint for my wrist and sleep with it on. He could be right, but this does not explain my neck pain at all. I am really frustrated. But I will try this and see as I would do anything to get rid of this constant pain. On the upside I am now on my way to eat with my friend today to make the most of my day off. This might cheer me up.

The splint on your wrist will help with the wrist pain... I've never heard of the same type of pain radiating up someone's neck, though. Have a good lunch with your friend.

Yeah the first physio said it was my C7 spine which then radiates to the arms and hand. But my MRI was not showing anything so this new physio is I think moving away from the neck and focusing on the hand. It may be 2 separate issues for all I know.

@DaddyEvil Yeah I know way too many nurses who has had it. Any surgery is scary to me.

@flapiz I had carpal tunnel surgery. It's not fun and recovery isn't fun and you still have pain even after it's fixed.

I fully agree with you, this does not explain the pain in your neck. The carpal tunnel causes numbness and tingling in the hand and arm. I am sure that the carpal tunnel is not your problem. Did someone check your cervical spine?

I had MRI to my cervical spine which didn't show anything sinister. But he could be right about treating these two issues separately. I just wish there was a more definitive test for what I'm feeling at the moment.

@LadyDuck Exactly I really feel like the MRI is a hoax after the experience. What sort of pain does your husband have?

@flapiz - My husband also has pain and the MRI showed no problems. I start to wonder how good those tests are.

Constant pain is very difficult to deal with. I hope you can find something that will not only alleviate but also cure the pain.

It really does sound like you could very well have a pinched nerve in your neck. That happened to me once--I couldn't even move my head without crying, it was terrible. If you don't get any satisfaction, try another doctor. Yes, it could be carpal tunnel, but with the neck hurting like that, it sounds like more.

In all fairness the splint helped me with the hand problems and made me sleep like a child. But I do believe there is an issue with my neck and shoulders too. How did you cure yours?

@MarieCoyle They did an MRI on me and they couldn't find anything sinister I wonder if they are looking at the wrong spot. I am glad you are well now. It isn't easy.

@flapiz One of the vertebrae in my neck was messed up, so they said, and it was removed. I don't miss it, nor the pain it caused, either. My neck pain was horrible. It was hard to function, and I do have to say recovery was very fast.

I think I may need to go to the Philippines to have this diagnosed properly.
