When it comes to baked beans I can say only one thing. I love them. Despite that, I don't eat them as often as you would think a guy who loves them would.
But they are good.
My preference? Bush's. But they are more expensive than I normally want to shell out for. AND, I have found other baked beans that are just as good and economically priced.
The ones from Aldi are actually very good.
But even the ones I get from Ruler Foods, which is owned by Kroger, are very good. They stack up with some of the best actually.
In fact, we are having these tonight with out dinner. Braised pork steaks seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder and curry powder, cooked in a mixture of Sunny D.
Laugh all you want. It's good eats.
With it we will have a tossed side salad and yes...these Kroger baked beans. Dp you like baked beans? What is your favorite brand? Or do you just like baked beans enough the brand doesn't matter?

Beans, beans, good for the heart
The more you eat, the more you….want.
The Bush’s museum/HQ is in the general area of the Smoky Mountains. I may stop by next time I’m there and see if I can pick you up a free can or two.

Is that how that goes? I seem to remember it quite differently. lol. Well, thus your whistle emoji. Gosh, that line from Blazing Saddles is forever etched in my brain.
"I'd like some more beans, Mr. Taggert."
"Don't you think you've had enough?"
One wonders if that scene may hold the Hollywood for the longest fart scene ever in films? lol
I think a museum like that would be interesting. But I love stuff like that. Especially when it is particular to business. Just gets my giddle—by the way, I just made up the word giddle. lol

@thislittlepennyearns Speaking of smokies, how about Lil' Smokies and beans? Now we're onto something.

I buy the cheaper pork and beans, then mix in Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce.

@porwest He has several varieties, but my favorite is the hickory and brown sugar. I add a little onion powder and red pepper.

Wait? you are cooking the pork with Sunny Delight?!?!?!!? Your food is a haz-mat zone.
When I hosted football Sunday Fundays and we did BBQ-themed spreads I'd use Bush's baked beans but doctoring them up with peppers, onions, barbecue sauce, and more. Everyone loved them.
I am not a fan of beans so I haven't had them in many years.

@NJChicaa So why do you give me such a hard time? Apricots and pork is a yes. Jellies and marmalades with pork is a yes. Applesauce and pork is a yes. Pineapple and pork is a yes. Pears and pork is a yes.
I have been to many a fancy restaurant where fruit is actually a part of all meats. Chicken, pork AND beef.
Brisket with dried fruit and capers. Corned beef with jackfruit. Sweet beef curry with apples. I am just saying that dishes are dishes, and those who create dishes create recipes.
The things I cook are usually culminations of, variations of, or derived from other dishes.
Like braised pork which is derived from a French recipe I learned many years ago. And it can be done a variety of ways, and use a variety of flavor combinations...including orange...which can be used from orange juice...
Or Sunny D.

My favorite is Bushs but they are expensive. Those look good especially that they say extra bacon and brown sugar. I'm sure your dinner was dee-licious!

I like Bush's too. That's the only brand hubs buys. I'm sure there are others that are just as good.

@LindaOHio The older I get, the more firmly I am stuck in my ways. It drives my wife bonkers sometimes. But it is what it is.
