How I spent my weekend 3/3/23 - 3/5/23

Friday the baby slept until 10:30am which was nice for me! I laid there so long waiting for her to wake up that my back got sore. She got into the cupboard and tipped over the sugar container. The lid came off and about 3 pounds of sugar dumped out. I salvaged what I could and placed it into a container with a lid that screws on so it wont happen again. I took my stepson to an appointment at 4:30 to get a Adhd medication refill. He gained a little weight back on the new medicine so that was good news since this one isn’t effecting his appetite. Saturday the baby woke up for some reason at 4:30. My husband took her down to get her a drink and she said up for about 20 minutes and they fell asleep on the couch. He wanted to go check out siding for the house so we drove an hour there only to find that it’s not open on weekends . He wanted to stop to eat and didn’t want to go to Burger King like I wanted to so we went to Texas Roadhouse. The baby loved their bread with the cinnamon butter they give free. I had a pink lemonade, steak fries, rattlesnake bites and seasoned rice. I only liked the drink and steak fries. Definitely would have rather went to Burger King. Sunday my husband took the baby out side around the property on a sled. He pulled her around on a long walk and they went sleigh riding. That was her first time in the snow. She loved it so much he wanted to take her back out so when he took all the dogs out to run in the game lands the baby and I went with him. He pulled her in the sled. I wasn’t dressed warm enough so I was freezing but I got some cute photos of her so it was worth it. Photo is unrelated to the post but is a nice glass set I had been eye balling at the thrift store my daughter works at. My husband didn’t say to buy it when I showed him.

@rakski I don’t have a real reason to need it and don’t have much money to buy it so I’d have to ask my husband permission which I hate doing.

Well, life with a baby I guess. It sounds like a reasonably decent weekend.

That sounds like a fun weekend for me. I remember when my granddaughter and I made our first snowman together. We had so much fun then we made snow angels.

@velvet53 I remember when my nephew was small being so excited to take him out in the snow to play in it for the first time. I know I took my kids out as well but I’m so much older then when my first two kids were born that I just hate the cold more and more. I was 20 & 23 or 24 when my first two children were born. I was a month shy of being 38 when I had my youngest on 2021.

@shaggin I know what you mean about the cold. I can't handle as well as I used too. That is quite a few years between your children. My granddaughter is 14 years younger than her oldest sister.

@sallypup they sure did. I’m sure they will do it again too if we get more snow. I’ll let them enjoy it together and stay inside where it’s warm.

@allknowing it was like ground up jalapeños in pepper Jack cheese balls that was very lightly coated with breadcrumbs and deep fried. They were really squishy and just tasted gross. Very different from what I was expecting.

@jstory07 isn’t it! I don’t think it’s there anymore. They made the spot where it was a book section and I don’t recall seeing it anywhere else in the store. They can’t keep things forever though what doesn’t sell after a month or so goes the Salvation Army or the garbage.

@Daddyevil yes it was so cute. Next time though I’m staying home if it’s not warmer I couldn’t stand the cold. She can have some daddy time while mommy gets things done at home. He wouldn’t have minded that I just wanted to tag along for photos and to spend some time as a family.

Sounds like a pretty good weekend except for the sugar spill and closed siding store. Happy the baby enjoyed her time in the snow. Such fun!

@DianneN I’m thankful he likes the cold as he can take her out to do these things. He hates the heat that I love so that’s when I’ll be taking her outdoors a lot again.

@shaggin I don’t like the cold either so when my boyfriend goes ice fishing I love staying home and reading and playing my favorite video game. I like the warm weather also that is when we go canoeing and camping which we love
