Our Trip to the Bank

Well, today was the day to get this hunk of $$ into the bank. I scheduled us to leave the house at about 2:30p. I even called the bank to be sure they'd be open. It says online they are open til 6p. but, since they are a pop-up/kiosk?(is that what it's called?) in the Albertson's they tend to close early sometimes.
Got out into my wheelchair, out and on the sidewalk by a little after 3P. It was raining lightly. A bit chilly but for the 7-8 minute walk 4 blocks it was okay in my shawl and tennis shoes. I got to see the new crosswalk and was startled when it talked to us. (Have I mentioned I don't get out much?) Puddles were scarce. Saw one of our new electric city buses.
The two bank tellers were both young males. Nice and personable. Didn't seem to bother them that we were jabbering. But, then we were the only customers. Come to find out the "pop up"? is going away next month and Albertson's is getting a nice new breakroom. Not sure what will become of these two young men.
Got the $$ deposited and set out on the trip home. The return walk was colder with heavier rain, almost sleet, and windy. BRR! Our clothes were only about half soaked when we got home.
I must say I felt stronger and more able to get out off the porch and into the wheelchair easier than I felt last summer when I went to the eye doctor. Not bad for this old 70-ish lady.

There are several other locations in town. The closest one is 19 blocks away. This one was 4 blocks.

Glad you were able to get out and do your banking without too much trouble. I'm sure you were happier that you were able to get off the porch and into your wheelchair easier than last year.
