I went to Starbucks with my elementary school bff and while we were having chika chika, I heard the staff call someone’s name. I ignored her and on her second or third time (maybe fourth?) of calling (or maybe shouting?), my friend immediately stood up and claimed her latte. So it was her who was called? When she came back to our seat, she was squirming as she showed me how her name was spelled on the cup. Instead of ‘Archeza’, I read ‘Archeesa’. That’s why I didn’t recognize her name being called.
We laughed at her new cheese sounding name.
Do you agree with the photo?

I wasn't aware "Bean" could be pronounced a different way....
When I was still in school, substitute teachers pronounced my name with a long "a" and that just isn't right. If I hadn't know they should call my name after the kid with the last name "Summers", I wouldn't have known they were calling me.

@sol_cee Summers is the last name of the guy that used to come before my name on the school register. When teachers check to see who's in class, they call the last name. The person is supposed to reply "Here" and the teacher calls the next name.

@DaddyEvil ohhh what would have happened if you didn’t say ‘Here’? Will you have been marked absent?

Yes I agree with that photo and this is hilarious
Yes I get called all kinds of names, no one can say my real name.
Anyway I saw one time at a Starbucks they were calling Liam Neeson, but instead of Liam..they called him LIME

We did experience such a case,Chinese name is simple and easy to pronounce. However there is another issue that it's likely a person's name is same with another one.We had two colleagues with same name in our company. When we hold a meeting, must add either "older" or "younger" before their name when call them.

@sol_cee, it's normal if a foreigner pronounced someone name wrongly. Actually my real name is little long. Once in my company a foreigner has to visit and I had to go and pick him up from the airport. My boss suggested me to have my short name on my visiting card so that the guest should not have problem to pronounce my name.
However, I have noticed few occasions when my name was pronounced wrong. Now, i keep my shorter name that is easy to call.

@sol_cee I had a mean looking teacher like that when I was in grade 2. He scared all of us because anyone got down in their monthly grading, would get a whack on the palm of their hand (timber ruler). I ran before that happened, only to find out that I had got top of the class that time, bummer! (my beautiful teacher moved school, and before she left, she transfered me into that top class of the school - I was only 6-7 or whatever at the time!)

Yesterday, my next-door neighbor (who has known me for nearly 10 months) called me Melissa. My name is Michelle, and she is not the first to do that. How anyone gets Melissa out of Michelle is beyond me, but I also know a few Melissas who are often mistakenly called Michelle, and I also know a Denise who is frequently mistakenly called Cindy. There is no rhyme or reason.

My name is quite difficult. Except the people of Bengal. Most people can't pronounce it.
