Y’all did it again!!!
I have a new washer!!
I got a bigger one (this is nearly 2 cubic feet as opposed to the last one that only held about 8 pounds of laundry). As soon as it arrived I threw some clothes in it to make sure it worked and didn’t leak. Yes and no (does work, doesn’t leak).
I ordered this from Home Depot. I like shopping online with them, for two reasons. One, I get a 10% veteran discount; and two, I can pay for it with PayPal. Anything over $100 with PayPal gets a six-month no-interest payment schedule.
And y’all made one of the payments!
So drop your laundry off while you’re at the Kentucky Derby and I’ll do it for you. It’s the least I can do.
Here’s Joe Walsh’s “All-Night Laundry Mat Blues,” which I don’t have because this washer keeps me out of laundromats!

I don’t have room or the hook-ups for it.

@FourWalls oh that stinks! When I moved out of the house I had 3 requirements for an apartment: air conditioning, pet-friendly, and washer and dryer. I was NOT about to deal with going to the laundromat.

@NJChicaa — I’m apprehensive to call a plumber to have hook-ups put in (this is an old house, and washers back in 1950 were those tub things with the wringers). After all the money I’ve spent on this house I don’t have a maintenance/repair/update bill for the first time in four years….and I don’t want the plumber going “You need $10,000 in plumbing work.”
This thing does the trick marvelously! I wash and spin them, then dry ‘em under the ceiling fan in the back room. At least I never worry about dryer lint causing a fire here.

I thankfully don’t have to do it every day.

@FourWalls Maybe because you have many clothes. For me, I don't have many clothes so it's better to wash everyday.

That is a cute little deal.
Glad it works.
I can see why you don't want a full size as the plumbing in the old house.

Plus, when I bought the house, the washer and dryer the old owner had were set in the kitchen. Not very appetizing; however, with these older houses, it was the only room big enough. Nah, I’ll go with this cute little thing. I don’t have a ton of clothes to do (you know, three kids playing soccer and baseball in the mud and all that stuff), so it’s perfect for me!

I will tell you honestly that I don’t think they are “heavy duty” designed. You go out and play with the horse and the dogs and the chickens and everything else and get a lot dirtier than I do. I do want you to know that before you consider one.

@FourWalls I looked at them a little. Lowes has about the same prices on the better ones and they give 10 percent too

@FourWalls That's great. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to do your own laundry, isn't it?

@kaylachan — I tried a few times going to the laundromat after my aunt went to the nursing home, and I didn’t like it at all. So, yes, I love staying home and doing it.

I can, but I don’t have the space to let more than one thing at a time hang out to dry. So it could be awhile.

We had one of those in our previous flat.
The piping under the sink wasn't the right piping to plumb a machine in
The wee washer worked just as good.
It's in the shed.Keeping it just in case our new machine breaks down

They’re perfect for me with a few clothes and no serious cleaning like wallowing in the mud.

Yes, it’s portable. You don’t need hookups for it or anything, which is a real blessing (because I don’t have any!).

I like Home Depot and PayPal. They both have some great benefits. Mylot isn't so bad either.
Congrats on your new washer.

Will you buy my ticket too?
Whatever I earn here gets to my bank as paypal cannot keep it. Since the amount gets added to my bank account I would not know how I have spent money that I earned here - probably buying those gifts that I give when I organise that Xmas party for poor kids.

I still have to do my sheets one at a time because I don’t have the room to hang both of them in the back room.

They’re one of the necessary evilest necessary evils. I don’t mind using the laundry in a hotel because it’s rarely occupied. However, there are many things in life I do not miss, and going to the laundromat is one of them.

Cool! I like to shop online too. I can't get around enough to go through a store unless I'm on a scooter. Enjoy your washer! BTW, you, me and Lou should go to Chicaa's for dinner some time.
