Gas prices are down in Northern California.

The price for Regular gas peaked at $4.99 a month or so ago at my "discount" station. I expected it to go higher, but it dropped to $4.89 the next week. When it got to $4.79, I scored about ten gallons, and have enjoyed not having to worry about when I'll visit the gas station next. A week later, it's still $4.79 at my discount station. I'm going to think about other things, like how to take advantage of the rise in interest rates for my own gain. Short-term bonds, with little risk, as yielding about 5 percent here right now. Have gas prices dipped a bit where you live? Do you have any clue why?

Could it be a "loss leader" that gets you into their store? Is it at a store?

It's $3.79 here and even less up in Northern Idaho. Have no idea about the price dip although I do know Biden is doing all he can to bring the price down. All things take time.

@celticeagle You are on some things? Not heroin, I hope. Oh, wait! Stoplights sometimes make me shake my head. Especially when they turn red just for me. But I'm patient about most things. Especially when I work with kids.

Sounds like it caries, even withing the Philippines. Do you know how far you live from @Shavkat, who also lives in the Philippines?

@TheHorse no idea where @Shavkat lives. Oil price increases here affect the whole country. There might be slight differences in the differnet regions and provinces but it is generally the same. Oil price rollbacks are few and far in between.

Gas prices have not "dipped" but the price is 7 cents less than the past month.

@TheHorse Should we go down to the old price, that would be a "dip", that means at least 20 cents down.

@LadyDuck Different terminology. I see your example as "a return to presomething levels."

What constitutes a "dip" for you?

Wow, that's expensive for gas! But being the state you're in I know it is higher there. Here last I saw it was $3.47

In my country, the price is still fluctuating. It did not go down a bit since the last price hike.

I know our prices go up at the weekends and on public holidays. That's about all I know about gas prices.

Ours don't vary that rapidly. Well, maybe as Holidays approach.
