What a night!

When I went to Guitar Center yesterday afternoon, it was partly cloudy out and temps were in the upper teens C (perhaps 65 F).
I almost blew off bringing my winter coat, as I only had to work until 7 PM.
When I went outside for my smoke break, at about 4:30 PM, the temperature had dropped 20 degrees F, the wind was howling, and it was pouring rain. I grabbed my coat but was still cold out there.
On my way home, I had my wipers on high and battled the wind on the freeway. I kept my truck away from other vehicles as much as I could. (Fifty percent off all drivers are below average.)
Interestingly, I did not see any stoplights out, though some neighbors were without power.
Once home, I settled in with Kitty, played some guitar, and slept well.
As they say in Montana, Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, California, and perhaps certain other States and Countries, "If you want the weather to change, just wait 15 minutes." Have you ever heard that expression? Does it apply where you live?

Yes it sure does. I guess you should have taken your coat and a umbrella as well.

Weather is unpredictable. We have a saying for people who can not be trusted..." Some people are like weather. They keep changing and you can't rely on them".
I have heard that expression that you used somewhere.

I've heard it as "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes", which was what was happening here Sunday...

That is said with frequency in Oregon as well. I hope that was the last big rain for your area for a while.

Here in Florida, the saying is wait ten minutes. Typically because pouring rain doesn't tend to last more than ten.

@TheHorse Yes. Some summers can be quite dry, but on a good summer, you can set your watch by the rain.

@kaylachan I enjoyed those afternoon rains. But I have not been down there in a couple of decades.

I am suing Mark Twain (They say he said, "If you want the weather to change, just wait 15 minutes," first) because I once had to wait 17.32 minutes for the weather to change.

That expression applies to Melbourne where our son lives but it's not really like that here.

It definitely applies in Ohio. 80s today....40s on Monday. Enough said.

Here in Idaho the time on that saying is 5 minutes. Changes come fast here.

Yes, Missourians use that same expression. I didn't realize other states did, though. It was rainy and nasty cold here yesterday, too. We might have reached 50F for a little while but the rain and wind never stopped.
According to the forecast, it's only partly cloudy today. It's been raining off and on since morning. At least we have reached 70F, though.

Yep, sure have since weather can turn around in a matter of seconds even. You reminded me of a hot day in the summertime in NYC when suddenly the sky went dark and cold rain and huge balls fell from the sky and everyone scattered for cover, About ten minutes the sun came out and everyone went back onto the street and went slipping and sliding on the melting hail balls,
