Did Trump donations really increase after he said he would be indicted this past Tuesday? Or is this just more "Fake News" from the Left?

I heard from some Lefty that Trump's donations increased radically after he announced that he would be indicted on Tuesday.
I'll have to do some research to see if there's any truth to this. Could Trump have used his impending indictment as an "advertising technique" to get more money from his supporters?
In any case, I'm close to "Trumped out" at this point. I think I'll post this, find something happy happy joy joy to write about, and do my research later.
Photo is of tree debris on my balcony after one of our wind storms. The tree still stands.

I always thought it was interesting as well. If he’s so rich, why does he have to keep begging his supporters for more money?

I really think that goes without bearing the question. He is the master of marketing. In his case, grifting.
The more I read about him, I'm never surprised any longer. Not about what he does, at any rate. However, I have to wonder how it is that he has gotten away with so much over the years. How is he given a pass by so many people for his behaviors? It seems to be in every aspect of his life.
I just don't get it.

@TheHorse I cannot see the comment of which you speak, as she blocked me long ago. However, I don't know if I agree with you that it was a mistake for him or not. I suppose it all depends on his motivation. I will agree that I don't think that he expected to win.
But, we are talking about Donald. Though I am certainly not a psychologist and cannot make a diagnosis of narcissism, and whatever other things that he is, once he got into the office of presidency, I believe that he saw it as an opportunity to make decisions that put him in a situation where he could do whatever he wanted. It's always been about him in his life, with little conscience about others.
I do hope that with what we are seeing, that he is held to a greater standard than he has been throughout his lifetime. And, I hope that the price to be paid is not at the expense of all the people he has dragged down through the mud with him. He would think nothing to throw anyone under the bus. My biggest fear is that everyone else will get the incarceration terms, and he won't. And I think he needs to.

@TheSojourner He needs to. Nobody should get away with trying to overthrow Democracy, no matter how rich they pretend to be.

I don't get it either. If I had done 1/10 of what he has done, I would never set foot in an ECE classroom again, much less a college classroom. As I mentioned in my comment to Lou, I think running for president in 2016 was a big mistake for him. I think he was just marketing his brand and didn't expect to win. He wouldn't not have been investigated for his business practices (or had to pay Stormy Daniels hush money illegally), and would not have tried to "steal votes" in Georgia, had he not actually "won" in 2016. He'd still be skating.

I was T’d out a long time ago, to tell you the truth. The problem is, his minions are running around. We have a guy running for governor who was just convicted of a bunch of misdemeanors and said those crimes don’t matter.

@TheHorse — road rage. It was considered “menacing” and “harassing communication.” Just more of the Kentucky good ol’ boy political network.

Hard to believe that people keep sending that phony their hard-earned money. But, I would guess it is true. I'm sure he gets a laugh out of it.

@JamesHxstatic His smirk will be forever remembered by those of us who were around during "these times." I wonder if future high school history books will use photos of that smirk to show who Trump was.

I cannot verify it because I have not seen details of it, but my guess would be yes. You have to keep in mind that despite what the media has told us time and time again, support for Trump remains strong and only grows stronger the more he is a perceived target of the government itself.
How can anyone trust a government that treats a former president this way? How can anyone trust a government that treated a sitting president this way? How can anyone trust any investigation as legitimate when every investigation before it turned out to be untrue, unprovable and even completely made up (Russia collusion comes to mind). How can anyone trust a government that seeks to impeach a sitting president time after time, with the first effort being made BEFORE he even took office?
The thought becomes "he was onto something." The thought becomes "he knows something." The thought becomes "the establishment and the career politicians are damn afraid of what he can expose." The American people think this too. Granted, not everyone. But a large number of people have to start to question, "What IS it about this guy everyone is so hell bent on silencing and stopping and putting down?"
There has never, in the history of our country, been a more concentrated effort to completely remove someone as they have tried to do with Trump.
There HAS to be a reason, and it's not about Trump at all. It's about the establishment. The deep state. The bureaucracy. I'm telling you, people gotta think. The more they try to wipe Trump out the stronger he gets. And the bad part? They don't realize it.
Trump threatened the establishment, and if there is any crime he is guilty of...it's that one.

@porwest Is Trump gonna expose the Deep State from prison? I was wondering why he keeps putting it off but now it seems clear. Doing it from his cell will have a bigger impact.

I find the whole thing odd. I am old enough to remember Ronald Reagan. I disagreed with many of his policies, and I was aware that he was senile during his second term, but I could see how he was like a "reassuring good Grandpa" to many Americans. But Donald Trump has never seemed "good" or "reassuring" in any way. And I do NOT believe he is senile, in spite of what some Lefties say. He has been semi-literate and a criminal for decades. Perhaps his whole life.

@TheHorse From what I’ve been seeing, his indictment is actually solidifying his base of supporters. If the prosecutors aren’t careful, they may just end up getting him re-elected next year.

Why not? People are free to give publicly, transparently, to whoever they wish to give. The donors neither steal the money nor engaged in corruption to give to their choice of candidate--Trump.

@everwonderwhy Because the legal system here generally lets high profile white collar criminals go if they are not a flight risk. I am with them. I do not think Trump will flee to Russia or Saudi Arabia. He is too proud for that.

@TheHorse Haven't Trump-haters been announcing in the news everywhere of his "sure indictment, impeachment x3, pending arrest, imprisonment" since 2016?
People choose to donate/give hard-earned honest money, anyway, to their choice of candidate whether Trump is arrested or not arrested.
So, since CNN and others, and Biden's top appointee DOJ have been bragging about Trump's arrest, what happened? Why isn't he in prison yet?
