Have you ever gotten an in home trial?

One site that I am on often has "in home usage tests" but I never qualify, never get to complete the survey. Tonight I completed one, and should get product to sample. The bummer is that I cannot talk about it or anything. I still think it may be fun, especially if I like the product. It is even better than getting a free sample at Sam's Club.

Yes, I have... Several years ago I was answering surveys and they asked about vacuum cleaners I'd owned. I told them about the two that I'd owned since moving out of my mom's house and then told them about several that we were given when Pretty came home from college. (College students throw away the vacuums their parents gave them for school. We gathered those up and brought them home with us and sold them in a garage sale.) The survey was for Shark but we didn't know that at the time. At the end of the survey, some of us got emails from the company giving the survey and asked us to pick a vacuum we'd like to try from Walmart online. I chose one of the Shark vacuums. The company sent me the vacuum I indicated and we did a three month at home trial. At the end of the trial, Shark gave us the vacuums to keep as a thank you for testing them. Pretty is currently doing an in-home test on a smartphone but I'm not allowed to say more about it now.

I will just say that both of those are much more valuable than what I will try out.

@DaddyEvil That is pretty cool. I do not know anything that likes shag carpet.

@GardenGerty We loved the Shark vacuum but it didn't like the shag carpet in this house when we moved here 5 years ago. The motor burned out on it. It's out in the garage now. Pretty is supposed to be testing the phone for defects and programming problems. We have been testing it every way we can think of and have found four defects... None of them are bad enough that I would refuse to use the phone, though.

This is on Swagbucks. Lots of users have talked about In home user tests in the past, I felt left out. Now I am excited. More boxes to keep my Amazon boxes company.

@wolfgirl569 It's just random surveys.. In fact this was a really short one. There will be follow up surveys that will be longer.

@GardenGerty I will have to check it out. I seldom go there anymore. Do they have a section for that or do you have to search for those surveys

A long time ago I got a few things that I do not remember signing up for. One of them was Greenies for cats. I put the package up and forgot it, but my kitty Tiger could smell it and found them. Loved them.

Oh I love when I get send products to test out. Product Report Card sends me things fairly often and I usually get $5 for testing the time out and filling out the follow up survey. But I’m not allowed to talk about the product to anyone. It’s still fun though!

I write reviews for a product review site. So far, I wrote two reviews and in the process of writing a third one. Might just post my reviews here.

I think if you are earning off the reviews you cannot post them here. If they have been published maybe you can put a discussion about them up.

I have a couple of times but they are few and far between. I don't venture on the site because of the low percentage rate of getting anything.

Sounds like it is a funny thing.I suspect that it is a publicity stunt.

It is a marketing strategy. They introduce a new product, have people test it out, and review it and hopefully then are able to promote and sell it. I guess in a way it gets them some publicity if they like our reviews and publish them.

I never qualify for product tests anymore. I'm too old and out of the demographic group they are looking for. I hope you enjoy the product.
