Has anybody stolen your lunch?

I was chatting with a friend on Messenger and she was ranting about this lunch thief of a coworker. You see, they have this fridge in their office where they put their food. As she was about to get her baked spaghetti lunch, she found it was not there. And she was really, really famished.
She went looking for it with the remaining energy she had but it was gone. And it was not the first time it happened. Another coworker’s lunch also disappeared the next day. Maybe someone was pranking them? I asked her. Because personally I wouldn’t be able to eat something stolen. I’m afraid I’d get upset stomach for bad karma or something.
How about you? What would you do in this situation?

Years ago, someone kept stealing my lunches at work and we didn't have a machine that I could buy something else from... So I made up two lunches one morning... One had what I was going to eat in it and the other had uhm... some special food I'd made.
I put a little bit of my eye drops into the food... The eye medicine said not to get it in your mouth as it can cause diarrhea... I put the special lunch in the spot I normally put my lunch and the one for me in the bottom of the fridge.
About half an hour before lunch, we started hearing someone calling for help from the restroom... We knew who was stealing our lunches...
To the best that I know, nobody stole lunches after that.

He took my lunch one time too many... Did you want me to keep feeding him?

He's a good friend now. Pretty and I talked with him a couple of months ago.
Of course, I never told him I'm the one that doctored the brownies, either.

@DaddyEvil Hubby used to talk about the lady at work who liked to put canned spam in stuff. Once she put it into a cake or its frosting.

Not a practical idea, but a camera on the fridge door to catch the culprit, or an alarm in the bag where you put your lunch. I have heard about this happening in many places.
I stopped taking lunches after everyone started bringing salami sandwiches, couldn't stand it.

@sol_cee Oh, well, somebody has to eat it. I wouldn't steal your lunch then.

I was laughing looking at the pictures you posted. It is such a brilliant idea to prevent your food from being stolen.

.
I agree, it's always bad karma to steal anything, much more - food. But it never happened in my workplace. If something like that happened, we would probably think someone is pranking us. Because no one would dare do such an unprofessional thing. You could put bait and catch the culprit.

Ah, I know this can happen with shared fridges
. You would think adults would be more grown up. Hubby's work used to get catered lunches - and there'd be tons of leftovers that were put in the fridge. One guy would go in there and pick out the shrimp when they had it . . . just the shrimp
. Not exactly stealing I guess, but that was just so childish.

We used to have that problem on occasion at the office I used to work at. But since I was a manager and had a big office, I just bought a little mini-fridge and put it in my office. That way, I didn’t have to worry about my food or drinks disappearing.

@sol_cee Shouldn’t that be the other way around? I want to put my lunch in your mini-fridge!

That's not good. If that happens in my office I will have it investigated. It's not being greedy but it's harassment. He sould have asked for it than stealing it.

I will save my lunch box on my desk next time or just ask for help from the "office boy/girl" to buy me lunch and prepare it for me. FYI, I had worked with several companies that always provided us with lunch, S, so every day each one of us will get the same menu, and the "office boy/girl" will deliver to us when lunchtime

Personally, I would put in a complaint about the situation. This should not be allowed to continue.
