Do you know me? Do I know you?

We meet all types of people here on MyLot and online. I know I use a pen name or alias here and I know almost everyone does. Also, the revelation of addresses and too personal information is NOT the norm. But based on an account's questions and answers to the discussions, can you - more or less - make an assumption about a person's personality? May I ask those who have interacted with me about what they think of me? Am I rude or ill-mannered or polite? For me, I assume that - so far - the people I have met are good and polite. But I was blocked by one - because of a difference of opinion. What do you think? Thank you in advance for your replies.

I think you are a polite person, I never had issues with you. According to what you wrote in the past I think you are no more very young, but not even a "senior", your profile says that you live in the Philippines. Anna is my real name.

@LadyDuck Oh, I see, so in your country, I'm still not a senior. Here, seniors are 60 years old and above. That age is rather late for us. I didn't know you are a senior. Hello, Ms. Senior. Take care.

I have been enjoying our interactions and was completely taken by surprise yesterday when you said that English was your second language. I was just amazed as you are so well versed. Please try not to be too bothered that one person blocked you from a difference of opinion. I consider myself easy to get along with, and I got blocked by someone my first day on mylot. I still don't know what I did wrong, but I do know several other mylotters who are blocked by the same person, and I will survive. (No, not naming any names!) And no, most of us do not really know the people we are talking to here on mylot. Many are using a name they picked out or their pen name, and that's OK. I have met some good people here. Everyone makes assumptions in life, whether it is in person or online or whatever interactions they are making, it is natural to do this. We just need to keep our minds open a bit and try to get to know each other, and no, I have never seen you be rude, or ill-mannered...just go on being you, because you are doing just fine!!

Now, I'm not sad someone blocked me. I thought I was the only one. I was afraid I came on rude to you because of my candid replies. I agree with you on all points. We do not really know each other and there is always something to discover in each one of us that we sometimes hide from other people. I have met some good people here too, and I have learned a lot through these interactions. One of them is you. You did not just get mad when I wanted some clarifications. I thought you would say. "Go back to the discussion and read it again." I know I am being silly but that was what the person who blocked me said. Yes, we need to be open-minded and understand each other because we come from different cultures and backgrounds. Even those from our own country are unique from us. That is why I like interacting here on MyLot because I'm interacting with the world. By the way, thank you for the kind words. May your tribe increase. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day.

@Jenaisle I have never thought you to be rude in the slightest, so please don't concern yourself with that thought. As I said, I was so shocked when you said that about the English thing, because you surely are very well versed in English--better, in fact, than many people I hear speaking it in everyday life here! I don't get mad easily. I found out long ago that doesn't do much for a person and just causes more anger in the end, it's just not worth it. I enjoy the diversity we have here and reading about people from other countries, we are all so different. It is nice to meet people here, and to have the option of commenting on subjects that we like. I often wonder if we even realize just how much we do learn from each other in here, because we do. I look forward to many interactions and shared comments in our future mylotting! Getting ready to wind down and go to bed, if the storm doesn't

Well, in school, English is the medium of instruction, but still, I find it hard to compose without grammar mistakes, especially now that I no longer read English books. I salute you for being a cool-minded and calm person. I agree with you that getting mad could cause more anger. I do realize that I'm learning many important things here on MyLot. Not only about cultures all over the world but also the thoughts or opinions of other people of the world. I hope you get over the storm and everything will be safe and well.
